All you need to know about me is that I write.
When I was just eight years old, I wrote a short story for my English teacher and she happened to enjoy reading it more than I enjoyed writing it at the time. I believe the story I wrote was called "Run, Monkey, Run" and it easily displayed my childish innocence as I had written it when I was a child. That summer, I found the graded version of the story and my curiosity led me to read over it because I had forgotten what the story was even about. Even at that young age, I realized how terrible the writing was and found that my teacher, bless her heart, had been too kind with her grading and commentary; thus, I began to edit. To this day, I have no recollection of what the story was even about; however, I remember that this particular story sparked my love for writing.
Ever since that summer, I read to spark ideas of what certain written societies are about. For an example, after I read the Giver by Lois Lowery in the sixth grade I have a love for dystopian novels which has led me to understand more about writing my own novels in a dystopian society. It was in the sixth grade that I grew to love poetry. It started off as an appreciation for poets but it wasn't much longer until I, myself, heard rhythms flowing in my head that I just couldn't suppress. It took a few tries to get it right but I was able to stir up a meaningful poem from my words that matched this rhythm. Being able to express my imagination and creativity through words on paper is much easier than expressing them out loud. I can be vulnerable on paper.
I've been writing short stories, novels, and poetry ever since and although I can't say I've perfected the art of writing, I'm still young and I still have a lot to learn. So consider me a student of all writings and soon I'll become the teacher. However, do not be mistaken by this summary:
My goal is not for you, fellow lovers of literature, to enjoy or even adore my writing. I don't write for you soley [ although, I love critism to help me get better and I love when people read my work] because I write for myself and my pure enjoyment as well. My goal is for you to read my works and feel something. You could read it and absolutely hate it but at least you felt something. At least my words were able to pull some sort of emotion out of you. I want to become a writer that can make you feel mixed emotions.
In saying that, you must understand I'm not a comical writer {which you could probably already tell from my biography] nut my passion is writing. If you do not like my writing, go ahead and tell me all you want but it will not hinder me from writing. I actually do want to hear your hate mails and your rude/snide comments about my work. I promise you, I'll enjoy them.
Thank you sincerely,
Me
