This is the first time I'm trying one of these sites, so I'm not sure what to write here. Either because I sound like I'm tooting my own horn, or whatever the total opposite is. But the advice is to be thorough, so here goes :-).

Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way first thing, shall we? Yes, that is a power wheelchair that you see in my picture.…

I have a "disability" known as cerebral palsy. When I was born, two months early, the world took my breath away literally. Obviously, it did not not remove my inherit sense of humor or appreciation of the occasional play on words. However, the temporary lack of oxygen did damage the motor skills part of my brain, (I can't fix a car save my life) so although I can move and feel everything, (yes, everything) my extremities don't often obey me very well. This means that I can't walk, and that although I have an independent spirit, I require some assistance to do most physical things. Like moving from chair to bed or chair to car. Actually, pretty much chair to anything that is not chair. However, it is very easy to help me with anything, as long as you're willing to follow verbal suggestions/instructions from me. :-)

The other baby elephant that might make some people uncomfortable is the fact that although I am about to go to ASU with the intention of becoming a counselor, at the moment I do not have a job, only government disability income. I do, however, have my own apartment for the first time in my life, which is a huge accomplishment for me.

Now, for those of you who are still reading/intrigued, we can move on to the really important and fun stuff. I love life. The world still, for the most part, takes my breath away. I love collecting new experiences, being as I was pretty sheltered in childhood. And for me, new experiences might be commonplace things to you. Almost anything you can think of doing together is holding some new experience for me to treasure.

Music is the energy that courses through me most of the time. All kinds of music. My iPod has Apple ADHD. LOL. From Abba to Zappa, I literally almost everything in between. What I listen to depends on the day and my mood. I feel emotions very easily, so, for example, I don't listen to much Eminem unless I am already amped up or frustrated for some reason; or else I will become amped up negatively or frustrated. :-). All music has its value and place, though. I love to dance. Yes, that is possible. I love karaoke, which is semi-possible. Giggle.

I love reading, and I enjoy writing a lot. I love finding people that need a smile during the day and giving it to them when I can. I enjoy any form of artistic expression, actually. I love kids and animals. Good food, the occasional good drink. Video games, quiet times with a good movie or book. I am a budding photographer/videographer. I am very intrigued by languages, and though I'm not completely fluent in others except for English and sarcasm, I know a big part of German, a smaller slice of Spanish, a sliver of Japanese, a smattering of American Sign Language, and various random words in the native languages of caregivers past.

As far as religion goes, I was raised a Lutheran, but I'm very open/interested in the study of other kinds of religions/faiths, especially anything under the umbrella of new age at the moment.

I'm excited to begin this journey and see whatever we see along the way!
