Welcome to my Booksie page!

My name is Billy Casper and I live in Birmingham, England with my two good friends, a Rottwieler by the name of Max and an American Bulldog by the name of Bonsai.

My name was Wayne Carter but I changed my name by Legal Deedpoll. Part of the reason for the name change was so that I could leave the past behind and start a new life with a new name. It's not something that I regret doing but the past is never far away and we can't get away from it.

As Wayne Carter, I wrote and published;

A Story that Shocked the World!

In 1997 I setup my own independant publishing name; Defiance Publishing, obtained a batch of International Serial Book Numbers (ISBN's) and published;

"A Reason for Living" - A Story that Shocked the World! as a paperback book, ISBN: 0 9530374 0 1

Due to the expenses involved only a few hundred copies were printed and perfect-bound. These were not of commercial standard. But I had published my first book. Most of these were simply given away or sent out to people in different countries.

Two months later Defiance Publishing published the Revised Edition of the same book. It was the same book but had a different layout, different size, and commercial-quality cover. ISBN: 0 9530374 2 8

These commercial books and the first edition had cost a few thousand pound to produce. Some of the commercial books did get sold and many were simply given away. I couldn't afford to keep losing so much money so I gave up producing books, for a while...

Some years later I obtained the domains defiance-publishing.com and defiance-publishing.co.uk

The .com site is the main site and is maintained but the other has been neglected due to focusing on the main site.

The book publishing will commence again sometime during 2013. The Second Edition of the book is already being printed and books will be available later this year. In the meantime, the full story is online.

A Story that Shocked the World!

Preface:

Someone once asked me why I wrote "A Reason for Living." At the time the question took me by surprise and I was unable to answer the man.

"Why do you ask? " I said. Suddenly the tables were turned and he was unable to answer my question.

I thought long and hard about his question. I guess there are many reasons why I wrote this book. Firstly, I needed to tell my story and set the record straight about how various agencies and authorities failed to provide proper care for a child so desperately in need of protection. And, more importantly, to educate people into the true consequences of ignoring child abuse and cruelty. This story contains some very powerful and important lessons for anyone with children or anyone who cares for them.

No child should ever be expected to suffer in silence. My siblings and I suffered some of the most horrific acts of cruelty and torture, on an almost daily basis, for a length of time which far exceeded the length of the Vietnam War. . .

In 1995 I subscribed to the Internet, the biggest computer network in the World. Today, I help support other victims and survivors of child abuse and cruelty and attempt to assist in the education process of the child care authorities from various parts of the World.

It's a far cry from my early childhood days, when I lived in fear of speaking out and struggled to open tins of food with little more than a few stones and brute force. . .
