A tale of a small boy living in a grim industrial city...
Edward Gordon, a retired civil engineer, has spent many years of his working life in several countries in Africa, the Far East, and on the Indian sub-continent. He finds the ambience that needs to be created for a fictional tale feeds readilly off the rich background provided by people he has been priveleged to know and events he has experienced first hand.
Edward Gordon has written one novel published in 2006, by Pegasus: "Once upon a wartime" is a rugged tale of life during the 1939-45 war, on the home front. This, it must be said, was not a commercial success. This book is now vailable on Kindle Books. His second novel Set in present day France, with which he has strong connections, has not been published in spite of his considerable effort to persuade publishers to do so, and so it lies in typescript form, within a desk draw. It is, nonetheless, his intention to commit this to an exposure on-line . . . . after all to be read must be the main objective of a writer.
He submitted an entry in the BBC Short Story competition in 2009.
