Hello, I am Evilyn. It's a pleasure to meet you, and welcome to my page. I honestly have no idea how on earth you managed to find your way here, but I hope that you will stay for a little while.. ^-^

A few things about myself:

I hope that one day I'll be good enough to make a career out of my love of writing, but until then, it's more than enough to write for my own amusement--and hopefully for others as well. At the moment, I am still a student, so most of my time is devoted to classes or homework--or at least that's what I like telling myself.

I am 18-years-old, and I've been writing ever since the third grade. I don't have the arrogance to say that I am now lightyears ahead of that little girl who ran around and beheaded barbies, but I'd like to assume that I've grown up at least a little bit since then. I am a simple person, and fairly easy to get along with. If I have a problem with you, then I will not hesitate to tell you as much. Besides writing, I love reading dark fantasy novels (my favorite author being BROM), watching anime and bad sci-fi movies, making my own costumes, playing viola, and going to conventions. Music is very important to me, and a big inspiration when I write. I love wearing black, but my favorite color is purple.

I hate bad grammar, onions, and bugs. I don't like bright colors, and I'm kind of a lazy person.

About my writing:

I tend write more short stories than I do "novels"--mostly because I have a bad habit of not finishing them. I used to write poetry, but I found that once I fell out of my "emo" phase from middle school, it was harder and harder to produce poems I felt were worth being proud of.

Most of the things I write will have some element of horror in them--mostly because I love horror. I love getting scared silly, and I love trying to scare others. In my longer pieces, there will usually be some form of romance, mostly because I love a good romance story. No, I don't consider Twilight--or anything like it--to be a good romance story. I have always had a soft spot for fantasy (The Lord of the Rings will always be my favorite) but I've only recently started to attempt writing it. Even more recently, I've fallen in love with dark fantasy--just the right amount of horror for my taste, while still having that magic element to it that I just love so much... Would it just be easier for me to say that I love all things dark and oppressive?

Yeah, I think I'm going to just go with that.

Lately, I've been trying to experiment in different writing styles, and have even attempted a hand in fan fiction writing, and I'm more than happy to take requests--it just depends on the content, because it's going to be pretty bad if I'm unfamiliar with the original story. I'm also open for any sort of collaboration piece, if anyone is interested in doing one with me!

Criticism:

Everyone loves feedback, right? I can say from personal experience that a really good review can seriously help save someone's ass--or more importantly, their story. So please, if you have the chance, some feedback would be really nice--if you like it or hate it, what should be improved, what errors managed escaped both me and spellcheck, etc. I just ask that you be courteous about it, and I guarantee we'll get along great.

I myself am very honest when it comes to writing comments on other people's works, so I apologize if I end up offending you. That is not my intent at all, and I will do my best to avoid doing so. But if you are someone who shares the same goal as I do--to become published--then you're going to be subjected to much harsher criticism that what I can possibly give you.

Reading Requests:

I am more than HAPPY to take READING REQUESTS--ON THE CONDITION YOU READ AND COMMENT ON SOMETHING OF MINE. Pretty fair, don't you think? Like I said before, I love getting feedback, and I'm pretty sure that everyone else does too. However, if my writing isn't to your taste, then there's a pretty good chance I won't be crazy about yours either.. So please don't ask for a reading request unless you're willing to do the same for me. :)

At the moment, I am unable to take reading requests. I currently have a backlog numbering well into a couple hundred, the oldest of which are from January. If I'm a "Fan" of yours, then I will get your updates through e-mail and will respond to those when I have the chance. If not, I am terribly sorry, but I have an obligation to fulfill to those from the beginning of the year. I shall do my best to get through everything as soon as possible.
