This is a 'Performance' poem that has had some acclaim...
I am an old Booksie Boy and returning in order to upload most of my poems as a way of keeping them in one place. I do have a website, http://www.irwin-poetry.co.uk so this is a back-up if you like. If anybody recognises me or my work then feel free to say hello but most of the poems will be work that has already been shown on here and other sites, so don't expect anything new for a while. The LINKS (at the bottom of the page) are for my videos on YouTube. I am quite willing to comment on other people's work - Poems only please! - and to offer advice should I be asked, however, I will not read or comment on the work of any writer who does not reply and acknowledge their readers comments! It is simply very bad manners in my view!
For those who want to 'talk' I am on Facebook as David Irwin Phillips.
If you do decide to read some of my work please don't just read the newest ones, start at the bottom of the list and work up! And what happened to clicking on the 'I Like' button? When I first joined booksie years ago this was an important device for readers to add a little more than just their comments and it seems to be mostly defunct now - shame!
A few people have inquired about my past history, what I do for a living etc; so here's a brief resume.
I am retired, I am a qualified Chef, Actor, Theatre Director, Producer, Script Writer, Performance Poet, Special Needs Teacher, College Tutor. I taught, Dyslexia Awareness, Public Speaking, Spoken English, EFL, Drama and Learning Support Tutor. I worked as Dircetor at the Academy of Performing Arts, York, for many years and lately as special needs support for 5yrs to 17yrs at a special needs school.
I am interested in Gardening, Home Brew, Photography, Quantum Physics and my grandchildren.
Generally I love all people though some do make it difficult to do so.
Please do not be offended if I do not accept your fan request! I have my reasons!
Hope this is enough to satisfy any curiosity. Happy to elaborate if not.
