I write on all topics. But best known for my more suicidal poems so to say and love for one person. there are a few writings which are not poetry yet my insight into the truth of american government and how it keeps us blind of its true agenda. I have also come to respect silent films more than I ever did. You don't need words to understand them thogh every so often they give a glimpse of whats being said or done. There is a great silent film called pandora's box. I dont recall the full film but next time it's on TCM, I will record it. Another great film is the three penny opera. it is around the same time that they called spoken films talkies. I know movies like such are being lost to time. They are true treasures. How many have seem david Copperfield not the magician. Or even Oliver Twist with Dickie Moore? Sure many of us have heard of such acts from the past but how many can say they saw films that they were in? the most common of all actors/actress are for example the comedy teams of Laurel and Hard, The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello. And the stylings of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby or indiviual start such as elli whitney Thelma Todd Jean Simmons, Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor. So many innovators of the past that go with out even a silent nod of appreciation. Why must the past stay in the past like so? Those films are what I would consider brilliant compared to all the crap violence sex drugs and tasteless movies of today. women in todays movies always come off as trampy acting as if they are gods gift to the world and they are better than anyone else. If anyone was to watch some of the films I have been watching you can notice true beauty with out all the glitter and make up. What real pisses me off about todays movies is a few things lately or over the past 11 yrs or so such as the remake of mighty joe young, king kong, jurney to the center of the earth, war of the world and the movies they are making that were originally cartoons, Transformer,gi joe,smurfs, garfield, alvin and the chipmonks. remakes like these totally take away from the true stories of the cartoons. For instance the was a made for tv movie of scooby-doo. They have all the characters meeting in high school when anyone who watches the orginal cartoons knows they met way before that and shaggy had scooby since he was a pup. And further more the recreate the cartoon with totally bogus drawings of fred velma and daphni. plus wheres freds ascaf? the original show did not center every show in Coolsville and also had guest appearances such as the three stooges Laurel and hardy sonny and cher not to mention specials with other cartons ccartoon shows like speed buggy Jabber jaw. and what happend to conning shaggy and scooby with scoobt snacks. they are less terrified than the original cartoons. Hanna~Barbara are both probably rolling in thier graves. They got most of the original voice. they left out kasey kasem shaggy doesn't sound like he originally did up til the last scooby movies cartoons. the story line has been destroyed I wont watch remakes. Further more I am ashamed of a certain remake recently. True Grit. John Wayne I guarentee is rolling in his grave. You can never replace the fast drawing well round tough yet also emotional aspects that made John Wayne one of the greatest stars of all time. he could make you laugh such as in Mclintockmake you feel the pain of his death in the shootist and in the cowboys. there was no roll he couldn't play. He demand attention when on screenleft you guessing what famous line he coined would be used. "Nah I won't hit ya....Like hell I won't" and then a fight would always break out. How many know that john Wayne starred and appeared in over 250 film not including tv guest starringor anyother television show. I agree to a song by The Charles daniel Band "a few more rednecks" the line I refer to is ." it's a shane that ol' John Wayne didn't live to be president." No words could be ever so truer about John Wayne. As a person he was not much different than those he portrayed in films. TWO of his very first few films where "BLUE STEEL" and "HELL TOWN" I am a large fan of John Wane tho he died not too long before I was born.it was after one of his last 2 films i forget which cowboys or the shootist that he passed away. he made you believe in th efilms that that was how he lived and in a sense it was. he had a friend who made many appearances in films with him. Yakima canuck(?) he made films most by john ford but if you watch carefully the fils are most shot in one location, Nevada. How many know who was older in laurel and hardy movies? Or that bob hope and bing crosby basically gre up together how about abbot and costello who was the oldest? Aa odd as it may seem stanley was older than Ollie. Costello was older than Abbott. and Bope hope and bing crosby wher borned in the same moth a few dats or was it wks apart. but they only made about 10-15 movies together before thier act was broken up. I know it is really a lot of useless info but it is interesting to know. And last but not least that Vincent price played in b rated movies wuth the acception of a few. one of Bela Lugosi last films was Scared to death and in color. a movie buff Yes you could say that is what I am. I enjoy movies with easy to follow plots whether silent or not I am asshamed of the movie industry as it stands today. Movie today are who can get the most watch actors and actresses. they no long care if the part is right for the person. For instance What women want. that is a role being a comedy best left for someone such as eddie purphy, jim carey, steve martin or bill murry for example. the choice of Mel Gibson as much as I like his road warrior roles, should not have been the star. I believe that it would have been better suit for those I mentioned a moment ago. Hell even danny glover would have been a better choice or joe pesci. Ok so whats my point to all this well we need to preserve films from the early years.... first part Actors should not be chose just because the can draw crowds but that they are well suited for the part. More child appropriate movies are needed that dont include violence sex and or drugs. The youth of to day see these images and think its alright because a charactor got away with something wrong. Now as for tv, the same. Parents need to monitor what is viewed. to me these programs like csi and others of simular plots are not appropriate for kids. As for the rating system of the FCC well pg shows/movies are no better than pg 13 or r all contain violence some form of sexual content (whether intended or not)and the way drugs are talked about or used. What happened to pg shows/movie not containing any of that accept some minor violence such as in disneys classic peter pan. Wher when shows had a message to them. Disney to dat is allowing a lot more sexual oriensted programs violnce and cursing. this is totally not acceptable.Walt is definately turning in his grave without question.parents today give kids basically whatever they want. Game systems cellphones there is no reason a 10yo should have a cellphone. yet parents today don't enforce discipline since they are affraid of the child calling and reporting abuse. but that is the fault of law enforcement officials. In my house you did something wrong you got punished for it. Whether a belt slapped hit with a flyswatter or for in appropriate language, Pepper in the mouth or soap. but no thats not appropriate anymore. why because we allow law enforcement to and protective services to tell us how we can and can't punish our kids.
