My tumblr: http://calmyournibs.tumblr.com - mostly I put up the same things as on here but I'll put some really short drabbles and such as well, things I never finished, my thoughts on books and writing exercises and it's just a little more flexible than my booksie here, so if you want to see me go there!
My name is Jenice, I spelled it wrong in my username hoping to stop people who I know in real life from discovering this little corner of mine.
Things you might want to know about me:
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Location: Seattle Washington
Some information on my writing:
Inspirations: Music, other people's experiences, my own, reading, anything I find interesting or intriguing.
Things I like to write about: relationships, the non romantic type. I'm more interested in the kinds of relationships between parent and child, siblings, friends, especially friendships between the opposite sex that isn't romantic, I feel like they can be even more meaningful. I like to write about people experiencing new things or having sudden realizations, doing things they never thought they would, sometimes bad things, I even like to write the occasional sci-fi thing, but it's always more focused on the way this fictional environment/situation would affect a character. I love to write about things involving psychology. Sometimes I like to try for the abstract as well, like dream sequences or drug trips. In my occasional poetry I like to steer towards darker subjects, murder, loss of sanity, hiding from your problems...
My reading interests: mostly fanfiction at the moment, lol. I like to read character based novels about people in challenging situations who grow from them, or sometimes don't.
My writing process: I almost always start with an outline, which is basically me writing a long winded, disorganized summary of the story itself. Once that’s basically finished I’ll start writing the actual story, but it rarely sticks to the original outline which I almost always go back and change depending on how I write the story. Sometimes I’m struck with inspiration for a scene instead of a story so I will write the scene and then an outline, molding it around this one instance.
Current Projects:
“The Hit List” – Novel
And I’m always working on short stories and poetry.
Things I’m trying to work on: Variety in every sense that it applies to literature. Grammar and conventions, pacing my stories, narration.
Micellaneous information: I suffer from something called “missing word syndrome” and you may notice that there will be entire words missing from my work a lot. I try my best to proof read things usually but sometimes your brain corrects a mistake for you and you just don’t notice it on your read through.
The current novel I’m uploading at this point, Closet Space, although finished, is not something I ever plan on pursuing publication with because I don’t think it’s good enough. It was my first large project ever finished and although I really love it and it’s kind of my baby in a sense, it’s very….amateur writing and it’s much too long. I might try to rewrite it someday FAR into the future but for now it is something I am done with.
P.s. My profile picture is one of my drawings.
