Hello!! I'm Katarina Mazri, and welcome to my profile!!
I'm currently working on my novel 'Keep Your Silver Lining' - check out the blurb below!!
Keep Your Silver Lining: A Novel
At first glance, Angel Kemera has it all. She's young, she's gorgeous, and she's living the high-life, proving that beauty and brains sometimes do go together. She's spent three years working her way to the top of Silver Line Recordings' corporate foodchain, showing everyone she's got what it takes to be in charge, rich daddy or no; but what no one else realises is that she's got her skeletons, and they're coming back to haunt her.
Luke Graydon, ex-boyfriend and musical prodigy, has finally worked his way back into the picture, and he'll be shocked at the Angel he's about to meet. This new girl is feisty, ambitious, and just a little bit scary - nothing like the Jinx he used to know. But a part of him is determined to rediscover the Angel he remembers from his childhood and bring her back. Not to mention, he's got a secret reservoir of charm, the subtlety of a wrecking ball, and a secret that even Angel can't bring herself to face again.
But against both their wishes, Gray is bringing her back full circle, back to square one - back to where they left off three years earlier. A small part of him hasn't given up on Angel, and he's forcing them both to remember. He's going to help her find the silver lining to their tragic love story whether she likes it or not; and this time, he's not letting her go without a fight.
Sparks and Bridges: A Novel
‘I’m too jaded for a love life, sweetheart, which is why I’m living vicariously through yours’.
Lexis was prepared for everything. Everything except Dallas Hale.
Dallas Hale is not the stereotypical boy-next-door. In fact, he’s Alexis Gordy’s worst nightmare. She doesn’t pretend to be an angel, but she’s convinced that he should come with a warning label:
BEWARE! COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO PERSONAL HEALTH.
They aren’t without a history, though, and a long, rocky one at that. Ex-best friend, ex-boyfriend, whatever it is, Dallas Hale has been there and done it all – and he’s literally got the t-shirt to prove it.
But two years ago Lexis burnt that bridge and moved on. Two years ago her father left her and her mother for his childhood sweetheart. Two years ago the unmarked parcels began showing up outside Lexis’ door. Two years ago her life fell apart, and she’s been doing her best to build it back up ever since.
But it’s not so easy when Lexis’ mum decides to reconnect to her own teenage years and get involved in her daughter’s love life. And so begins what Alexis Gordy labels ‘the Mother Machine’s Midway Mayhem’, which is really just her obnoxious way of saying that her mother is having a midlife crisis – at the age of thirty-six.
The problem is, over the past two years Lexis has become ‘that girl’. She parties hard, gets the grades, and avoids the dating pool like the plague. Boys, as far as she is concerned, aren’t worth the drama or the cheap drinks they come with. Which is why her mother’s newfound fascination with her love life is a Really Bad Thing.
And then, predictably, things take a turn for the worse.
The Gordys have new neighbours; new neighbours who turn out to be none other than the Hale family – and their dog.
What happens next is a head-over-heels compromise that shakes the foundation of everything Lexis has created and threatens to overturn two years of carefully built-up defences.
