My profile has gotten a little out-of-date, so I decided to change things up a little!
I am more into music than most people can understand (it MIGHT be because I'm a musician. Just might be.) If you ask me what music I like, my response will be almost anything! (And I don't answer the "who are your favorite bands" question; simply too difficult.) Likewise, musical lyricism is also a huge influence on me. My own songs are really rough, though....
I write in almost every medium (but not all genres), though poetry is by far my strongest area of expertise. I work at a library, and I love working with all the information and the patrons!
I have won two awards for my writing: I was one of the six winners of the Young Playwright's Festival in my city, and I was a winner of Poet's Night Out, also in my city. My weird style of writing is a part of me. I'm a very shy, introverted person and quite quiet, though if you got to know me I'll talk a good deal. (And now this too is out of date, my writing voice has changed expansively in the past few months, so....)
Poets NOT on Booksie who I recommend: Fleda Brown, Ezra Pound, Billy Collins, Dylan Thomas, Walt Whitman, Teresa Scollon, Stuart Dybek... among others, dead or alive!
Writers on Booksie I highly recommend reading (I don't know why I originally put these in a colored font...):
Melinda Sue Henry -Her poetry is some of the best and most all-around simple and heartful writing on Booksie! She's inspired me in quite a few ways!
JoelatRpg -JoelatRpg is one my all-time favourites here on Booksie! If you like incredibly moving and well-written children's stories and very good naturalistic style in poetry, I highly recommend all of his work! He has a brilliant mind and a caring heart!
Evferree - Evferree is much like Elizabethrose, having very powerful concepts and amazing ways to rhyme and flow and make the reader want more! She is also a very talented percussionist! (I credit her for her marching band skills!) She has a lot of perseverence and hope in her writing!
Ally Shark- (You get the gold-yellow color because I don't know why it won't change.) I completely forgot (I'm sorry!) to put Ally on here a long time ago! She's young but REALLY immersed in the worlds of writing and music. Her stories can be a tad brutal, but in the best of ways!
I strongly recommend reading the novel of a Booksie author named Criss Sole. She's a disabled girl who has to stay in bed and is putting her heart into writing her novel, an autobiography, about the mistakes of her life. I hope for her and hope you read her too sometime, because it will warm her heart more than anything if you read her novel, believe me!
