Hmm, where do I start? I am more into music than most people can understand, also for that matter because I am a musician myself. If you ask me what music I like my response will consist of bands not too many modern kids listen to anymore.
I am a devoted Christian, and I've been accepted to two or three Bible colleges already. I would love to go to an arts college too, if I got accepted.
With books, the same pattern is seen but in greater depth. My top note: I do not usually read modern books, poetry I will read, but almost everything I read HAS to be old literature. It's all I can read; and I read a lot. I can understand old English better than some of my teachers, probably, and I seem to be the most literate in my grade. I was inspired to become an author when I began reading Hemingway.
For another note, sports fail me, and competition acts dull in my mind. I will get active at times, but for the joy of the fun. Except I love frisbee.
All I can ever see myself becoming as I grow older is an author (novels, poetry, short stories, you name it), a musician, a pastor, possibly a veterinarian, or maybe a librarian.
My profile image is me playing two pairs of bongos, equaling four drums (though you cannot see the second pair), the name of which I call, "Quabonga." What I would name my band (if I could decide?): "The Lost Generation." (Yes, it's a novel of mine.)
I play a myriad of hand percussion, and am trying to learn and sing, and also play guitar. I have a Fender Stratocastor that I am learning how to play and I love it! Oh, and I would be pretty good on keyboards or piano if I practiced. I play a good acoustic guitar too.
If you want to know some of the bands I listen to, here's a list of goodies: Yes, Styx, Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Asia, King Crimson, Bill Bruford's Earthworks Electric Light Orchestra, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Frost, Little River Band, Rick Wakeman, Tears For Fears, The Fixx, The Cure, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Bread, The Byrds, Tangerine Dream, Supertramp, Foreigner, Roxy Music, Santana, Procol Harum, Traffic, INXS, Gordon Lightfoot, Crowded House, Caravan, Brian Eno, Bob Marley, A Flock of Seagulls, The Police, The Moody Blues, Three Dog Night, Rusted Root, The Fray, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Renaissance, Rush, and The Psychedelic Furs.
I don't want to disappoint people with the bands or genres I can't stand, so I'll leave it at that.
If you've read my work, you know I've a different style...a style I've tempered over reading many, many classical authors. I'm a very shy person and quite quiet, though if you got to know me I'll talk a good deal.
Authors I highly recommend reading:
Melinda Sue Henry
L J Jones
If you want me to read something of yours I'll do so (and I always give long comments no exception). If you read something of mine don't give me those dinky one sentence comments that tell me simple compliments or things I already know--NO, if you read my work pile on the comments and criticism and suggestions, I enjoy reading all of it, it helps me progress. I would like more fans, but you really have to read my writing and like it lots to be a real fan.
I strongly recommend reading the novel of a Booksie author named Criss Sole. She's a disabled girl who has to stay in bed and is putting her heart into writing her novel, an autobiography, about the mistakes of her life. I hope for her and hope you read her too sometime, because it will warm her heart more than anything if you read her novel, believe me :) She's one of the best writers Booksie has to offer! I'd prefer you read her book over any thing I have, actually!
What else can I say? I love animals.
Thanks a thousand for taking the time to scour through these lines of profile masterpiece, and kudos to all the hard work out there! If you want to toss me a reading request I'll be more than happy to check it out, and I usually get right to it.
