I have been a "writer" since before I could perform the act of actually writing words on a page. My father had worked with me, and my imagination has ever since outstripped my mechanics. As such, I strive always to improve. I draw inspiration for my writing from everything I experience in my life. I love to learn, especially when the learning aids my writing. I learn to improve my writing by reading other people’s work to pick up mechanics. What do they do that works, why does it work? What do they do that doesn’t manage to live up to expectations, how can I avoid those same pitfalls? I learn by practicing, and seeing what flows best, and where do I always make the same errors? Mostly, however, I learn through feedback. I love feedback, the more specific, the better. I would always prefer some one to say “I hate your work because” and list 20 reasons, then to be told it’s “interesting” with no more comments attached. I want to know what you like, and what you don’t. It may take me forever to make a revision, but that is both scheduling as well as wanting to get as much feedback as possible first.
I am a bit paranoid about posting my work, so it may be a while before I do so. However, I will comment, and I will become a part of the community as best as my hectic life allows. I look forward to meeting you all, and reading what you have to say!
Peace and love forever
