My name is Sharon, and I am a senior citizen who reads and writes a lot. I've been married to a wonderful man named Colin for almost thirty five years. Luckily, his sense of humour is as strange as mine. We have a solid blue Siberian Forest cat named Rufus, and a black Pekingese named Trisha. Rufus and Trisha weigh about the same - fourteen pounds. I know, Trish is a bit on the chub side. Rufus weighs about what he should. (See profile picture)

I tend to take commitments very seriously. I do semi professional reviews on a writers' blog, plus critiques on other writers works, elsewhere. I've done Script Frenzy, and NaNoWriMo once each, and achieved the required word count within the given time limit, both times.

I'm always interested in meeting and writing with other writers. I write a lot of Fantasy, Horror, Humour, Poetry, Science Fiction, Supernatural and some Historic Fiction. My stories usually contain some element of romance, but nothing really erotic. I write for readers of all ages. I've written some children's stories about my pets, but my main audience is teen to adult, although there are almost always at least one senior character in there somewhere. I do both solo and collaborative works.

I've hosted one Poetry tournament, and co-hosted another. I've competed in several prose and Poetry contests. I've won some, lost some, and placed second in one, but mostly enjoyed myself regardless of my standings. I know quite a bit about grammar, but it's an ongoing learning process. I comment, review, or critique  based on content, clarity, continuity, spelling, punctuation and grammar. I don't comment harshly or  too generously, usually somewhere in the middle. I try to be as fair as possible, regardless.

In my reading, I look for good character analysis. I've been known to become rather attached to some of my written characters. They speak to me - not literally, I'm not nuts, although there are those who would disagree :) I like Elves, and I don't mean Santa's indentured servants, or the house Elves of Harry Potter fame. I mean Lord of the Rings Elves. I'm currently working on a novel that involves Elves. I think Elves are highly underrated. I would like to be an Elf. I would also like to be a Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but that's not going to happen, either.

My favourite current authors write Horror, Fantasy, Science Fiction, or Humour, although I have read many of the classics over the years - Gone with the wind, the Grapes of Wrath, the entire Sherlock Holmes series, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre ,Tom Sawyer, Kidnapped, Treasure Island and the Lord of the Rings series.

These are my most favourite authors, although there are many more:
Stephen King, Dean Koontz, John Saul, Peter Straub, the Bronte sisters, Mary Higgins Clark, J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, V.C. Andrews, Tad Williams, Isaac Isamov, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mark Twain, Robert Loiuis Stevenson, and Fannie Flag. I'm wondering if maybe I was an axe murderer in another lifetime, because I do like those bloodthirsty stories. I don't know why really, because I hate to see anyone get hurt. Maybe I was an Elven axe murder in another life time.

I'm looking forward to reading the stories here at Booksie, and meeting their authors.
