Any serious writer who wants to improve should read On Writing by Stephen King.

Me: I'm a young, passionate writer, and a recent high school graduate. I was an International Baccalaureate student and a member of my school's National Honors Society. I will be a freshman in college this coming fall, majoring in Journalism and hopefully double minoring in Creative Writing and International Relations. I will be a part of my college's honors program.

I AM CURRENTLY READING:

Flair, a novel by Plattinum (on Booksie). I suggest this to anyone who enjoys the fantasy genre!

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

The Forever War

Chapters: 33 | Comments: 317 | Pages: 374

This is my pride and joy, my heart and soul on paper. If there is only one thing I could ask you to read, it is my book. It looks like there are more chapters than there really are. Booksie has a word limit for each chapter, so I often have to split them up because they are too long. There are two main characters, Princess Azaa and Prince Sacien, and the story is told in first person. The first chapter listed on Booksie is background information. While it is helpful, it is not necessary to understand the story.

Summary

A war has been raging for centuries, as long as anyone can remember, between the Razaabian Kingdom (Aaza's Kingdom) and the Kingdom of Ekker. The mighty Dragon and Griffin Fliers fight for their respective kingdoms, and are their people's heroes.

Princess Aaza is being set up with Prince Sacien of the peaceful Tarkoral Kingdom in hopes of creating an alliance that will end the war. The whole world is waiting with baited breath to see if their arrangement will be followed through with.

Both the young royals spend much time concerned about love and arranged marriage, but as the war drags them into two opposite directions, their naive views are expanded to other matters, more important than being choosy about who to marry.

Do they have the power to end the Forever War? And through all the lies, secrets, and differences in loyalty, can they do it together?

The Kingdoms

The Raazabi (Princess Aaza's Kingdom)

A magificent kingdom spread across the great Raazabian Desert, this is the home of our heroine, Princess Aaza. The culture of the Raazabi is colorful and intriguing, and as you read through Aaza's adventures you can almost feel the hot desert sun pressing on your back. Imagine rolling sand dunes, as far as the eye can see, painted red and gold by the sun and silver by the moon. Feel the ocean breeze and the call to adventure sweeping in from the coast as you join Aaza in the castle in the capitol city: Elmuni. In this kingdom, legendary Dragons and their Fliers take to skies and watch over the citizens. They are the people's only hope for an end to the Forever War.

Ekker

On the other side of the tropical Razima Forest from the Raazabi is the Kingdom of Ekker. The Blue Kingdom is comprised of enormous grassy plains, and harsh, rocky coastlines. From the marshlands at the foot of the Tarkoral Mountains, to the unforgiving hurricane territory along the coast, to the harsh climates of the central plains, the Ekkerians are a hardy people that have learned to adapt and thrive. The mighty Griffins and their Fliers watch over them, warring against the Raazabi and the Dragon Fliers.

Tarkoral (Prince Sacien's Kingdom)

Hiding on the other side of the mighty Tarkoral Mountains is the quiet, peaceful Kingdom of Tarkoral. Covered in farmlands and scattered forests, Tarkorite life revolves around the rivers winding through the land. The mountains are Tarkoral's guardians, a natural wall against involvement in the Forever War. However, if our hero, Prince Sacien, marries Aaza, that could all change.

Join the adventure in a world so fantastic you can only dream of it. Read The Forever War!

Favorite Authors on Booksie

Thedude- I very rarely see him on Booksie, but the few times he has appeared he’s made me laugh out loud. He has three works up, all short stories, all very humorous. He has a very unique style.

Dannika Summers- Her work hits me like a ton of bricks every time, especially her poetry. She is excellent at creating a vivid picture and tugging at the heart strings. I love her work!

MadisonRose- A social commentary writer, she is currently writing a very controversial but very amazing novel that makes you rethink a lot of things! I love her work, she is creating a wonderful message, and I believe she will change the world with her words.

Brian W- A poet that has a lot to write about, both sorrowful and happy matters. He always keeps the rhyme and has a way of putting you right there in the place he is describing. A very talented man indeed.

Sexy Scarlett- A romantic writer, I love all her pieces. She bestows breath taking imagery in all her writing. She also has a very vivid erotica account, there is a link for it on her page. Very sexy, thrilling writing! She was also the one to introduce me to Booksie!

Maij- She has a very unique, eccentric style, but she rocks it out. I love her writing; it is vivid and often makes you think. It definitely switches up your role as a reader! Much of her writing is interpretive and she doesn’t always come right out with the meaning.

brucek- Where do I even start with Bruce? He has mastered the art of wordplay. In his magnificent poetry, he puts words together like you've never seen before, and paints a wonderful picture and evokes overwhelming emotion with his medium. Bruce is a true artist, and I love his work to the core.

Annat2again- She is also a prolific poet. Her language is eloquent and speaks to the heart. She plays with poetry format and style in ways that I never would have thought to do. She was the first to introduce me to the idea of making one poem out of many haikus.

Nik89- His short stories are like a succulent prime rib. He says his weakness is his tendency to write themes around animals, but never have I met someone so talented at describing nature. His supposed weakness is really the defining feature to his writing, and definitely a strength. If you want your breath taken away, visit his page.

moonphish- Want a good laugh? Want a heartfelt legend? Want to read a poem on a subject you would never think to associate with poetry? This is the poet you're looking for. You'll never read it all- he usually posts at least one thing a day, and he has an impressive collection. But he sure will keep you busy, and amused.
