I was born near a forest that was fenced off and prohibited to us. It was a couple of miles around, a circle of trees. An island of nature,a fragment of the great caledonian forest surrounded on all sides by a neat and clipped ocean of green(A GOLF COURSE). This might explain my on-going fascination with the forest mythologies of all cultures.I am currently a student on the Mlitt at university of Glasgow and am trying to develop my skills as a prose writer. My main influences in poetry are the mid twentieth century poets, from Auden and Elliot and Yeats to Macniece and Thomas and Mackay-Brown and Macaig and That other THOMAS, R.S. The Welsh shepard with a gritty tongue, his eye on the heavens over the peasants in the freezing fields.
