Hello everyone, my name is Simone, pronounced Cee-moan, and I'm a nineteen-year-old who has chosen to live in poverty for the next year. I'm currently working with AmeriCorps as a tutor with middle schoolers who want to go to college, or at leas their parents want them to. I'm getting paid less then minimum wage to work for them and hopefully, if I get enough hours I can get a grant at the end for school. Yay! I love to help kids though and want to be an elementary school teacher, but my real passion, the passion I have had since I was in third grade, is writing.
To be able to write for the rest of my life, and make money from it, would be a dream come true, as I'm sure it would be for everyone who has the gift of words, but it isn't realistic. So I write for love, not profit. I write because I wouldn't know what to do with all the insanity going on in my head without it. If you read my work you are bound to find a plethora of genres. I love to write children's stories, fantasy, science fiction, horror and anything else that strikes my fancy. I really try to not categorize, especially since my writing never starts out being a category, I just put it there when I've come up with a general idea of where I'm going with the plot.
My favorite book, which, incidentally, is written by my favorite author, Lewis Carroll, is Alice in Wonderland. I have one of the original copies of the book, I've seen more then my fair share of movies based on the book and I've read many different authors views on the book and its artwork. I even wrote a bit of a gory sequel to the novel in my younger years. I do love all kinds of books, though non-fiction does bore me a tad. Harry Potter, The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Lord of the Rings, Lord of the Flies and yes, even the Twilight series, are a few of my favorites.
This is just a simple overview of what I'm about, but I think my writing will tell you more about me then I ever could. I hope you enjoy the pieces I put up and, since I'm new, I hope I post them correctly, ha ha. I would love to get feedback of any kind. If you just want to rip on my work and tell me how horrible I am at writing please do so because I will take whatever advice you put in there and try to work on using it with my next work. Same as if you compliment my work up and down. I will find what specific things you liked about it and use that again. I make no promises at writing well though. I can only say I write to the best of my abilities and only because I love to.
Which Path Will You Choose?
Which path will you choose started when I read my younger sister "Journey Under the Sea" by R.A. Montgomery. She longed for more, though she wanted something a bit more whimsical and childish. So I took my pen to paper and wrote something similar just for her. It was actually quite fun and I loved seeing her reactions to each choice she made. Soon I was sitting in front of all of my cousins, reading them this fanciful tale and they would all argue and vote over which path they wanted to take. I delighted in this scene of playful fancy and it made me feel young again so I decided to share it with you all. This story can take any number of twists and turns, leading you down unimaginable paths. It is definitely a different paced story, full of choices and consequences. I hope you all enjoy.
The Larks was started many years ago, filled with characters I have been developing since I was younger. These characters needed a world they could finally live in and that brought me to this tale of death, deceit, and fantasy. As of now it is extremely rough, the plot is vaguely there and their true purposes within the story is still unclear. As of now there is only one thing determined and that is they will not stay where they are used to for long. They will be dragged into their mother's old world, the world they were born to. I hope you enjoy this as well since I love being able to play with my beloved characters.
Now this tale is extremely sensual, filled with lovely characters I get the pleasure of manipulating. Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite games, I love the stories and the worlds they created, and of course, after the scene where Axel "disappears", it is evident him and Roxas are simply meant to be. So I put them together and a very dangerous way. Axel is going to use, abuse and over all take advantage of our innocent little Roxas, but Axel's past is always haunting him. And of course he wants to drag Roxas down into delicious sin with him. For all of you Kingdom Hearts fans, and specifically AkuRoku fanatics, enjoy this story and I hope you all find it as amazing as I do.
Of Funerals and Beginnings
This story started off after I had a very emotional break up. This was a story filled with my pain and sorrow, but it also took on a life of its own. The sorrow that our dear Richard goes through is almost unimaginable. I don't know why I felt the need to torture this poor man, but I have and his is not a happy ending, nor was it ever meant to be. I dearly love writing tragedies, for reasons even I can't fathom, and I feel this is one of my favorite works to write. That being said it is also the hardest because I have to draw on inner turmoil and pain to be able to properly portray his suffering. I hope you all enjoy my tale of heartbreak.
