My Links

i was born in the township Soweto, south of Johannesburg during the times of political oppression. i am from a family of five and was raised from a factory worker's salary and a house maid.  i started school in 1993 when i was five turning six and finished my junior high in 1998. i was the youngest pupil in every grade i was in and i enjoyed being young!!! i graduated from high school in 2003 when i was sixteen and went to stay with my granmother in the farms.  i started writing as a lyricist in my high school years and later did essays and short stories. i partly did drama and speech and quited because  it didn't stimulate me enough then.

it was during the time after high school that i took writing seriousiy  as i was not attending university and had time to write about the things that where happenning around me... the majestic mountains of the drakensburg inspired me to write about nature and its mystery. in that year i actually wrote a book that i never published... its manuscripts where lost in a house break-in that happened in 2005. the year which i started my university studies.

during these years, i was part of the campus poetry movement... only for inspection... as i did not regard myself as a poet... i still don't because i prefer myself first as writer. a verbal expressionist. I recited my first poem after a year joining the movement, then i never looked back since. i am more of a self-concious writer . i reflect verbally to things happening around me, things that inspire me, people i meet and those around me.

i am always open for knowledge and love correction.  my favourite bible verse is the book of proverbs chapter 12... it agrees with a lot of things i stand for.

i am looking forward to learn from booksie and maybe be inspired by the prominent writers that can turn me into a real poet.
