The birth of a half demon who would become a legend.

We are all one strange quirk away from being insane. For me (as well as many of you reading this, I would guess) the quirk that keeps me sane is writing. I do not mean it in terms of it being cathartic or stress relieving, even though it is often that, but in terms that if I do not put the words down, breathing life into characters and worlds then I start to lose my grip on reality. I realize that in itself sounds insane, and I used to think my quirk was a psychosis, until I met a few famous writers and a lot of other writers, who said the same was true of them. If it is a psychosis when there are a lot of us out there that have it and the worst aftermath of it, so long as we are allowed to write, is that people get entertained (or at least we hope they do.)
I used to say I have been writing since I was old enough to know how, but that is a lie. I have been creating stories since before I knew how to commit them to paper (or electronic format). It is a great passion within me and a large part of shaping the person I am. I am a middle-aged woman with grown children, who traverses the mundane world out of necessity and responsibility, but tries to find the adventure and intrigue present in the most common place things and events. Luckily, I have some great fellow adventurers in my life, including my daughter who is an artist, an inspiration and one of the two most amazing things I ever created.
I love to read, so I actually read quite a few stories on here, even if I do not comment much, because people tend to get very touchy about their stories and I do not want to discourage anyone from writing, ever. I write for pleasure, but still really enjoy having and audience. I will always write, but I write more, strive to improve, and enjoy both the writing and the constantly trying to become better, when there are people reading what I write. I even enjoy hearing from the people who do not like my work, because it will either point out things to me that I need to work on to improve, or will amuse me. Whether it is good or bad, I work better with feed back and knowing I am bring something interesting into someone's life, as my long time co-writer, biggest fan, and Rockstar in her own mind (actually she is a pretty good muscian and has been in a few bands, including her current one Velvet Jane... check them out if you are in the Wilmington, NC area) will tell you.
Never allow yourself to be bored. If nothing else, dance. Dance no matter where you are, even if there is no music, except what is in your head. It might make people think you are crazy, but you will be entertained for a while and you will generate stories that people pass around.
