Hi!
Thanks for visiting my page! My name's
Amanda. I've been writing for several years now and I'm finally comfortable enough with my work to open it up to the critics of the internet.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give me: positive or negative critique. Honestly, be as harsh as you need to be.

If you're considering following me, here's what you'll likely see pop up here:

-Short Stories: big range here, could be fantasy, could be angsty or excited or nostalgic or creepy, could be a supplement to something else I've written.

-Serialized Stories: I've got a one in particular in mind but there's several plotlines I'm thinking about serializing.

-Poetry: I'm not normally a poetry person (in terms of writing, I love reading it) but my Publications teacher this year forced me to write some so that may turn up every once in a while

-Vignettes and Drabbles: I like trying these in my spare time. If you haven't tried writing either one yet, I suggest you give it a go. Vignettes are short pieces that focus on a single moment and are usually very emotional or impressionistic. Drabbles are stories that are told in exactly one hundred words. No more, no less, including the title.

-Novel(s): I might try throwing a novel or two up here. I've got this fear-of-commitment with novels so if you like my stuff please let me know! I'll need lots of encouragement to complete a novel. They're so scary!

Also, I really like editing and those whose pieces I've edited have said good things about my work.  If there's something you want me to edit, just send me it an email: a.vanecko@yahoo.com.  If too many people start emailing me, response time might be a little long but I'm usually pretty good about that sort of thing.

If you've got a novel or something that's particularly long, send me a short summary (approx. 100 words) so I can screen it first. I don't want to commit to something that I don't feel comfortable editing or won't be able to complete in a timely manner.

I helped publish a literary magazine this year so I've seen a lot different stuff. Don't be afraid to send me something untraditional or you think some people might think is weird. If you like it enough to put it up for review, I'll look at it.

That's about all I can think of for right now. Read my work, leave a comment, and I'll return the favor!
