Hi, Booksie Users! I am currently a student in high school, and I generally write when I'm not busy drawing, reading, or being a music geek. At the moment, I have a chaotic mess of jumbled and sketchy ideas swirling around in the abyss of my mind, and it really bothers me that I can't just spit it all out in a publishable form all ready to be several best-selling series worldwide... My work probably isn't all that great, and I love and accept constructive criticism wherever I can get it. I'd prefer it if, on comments, people would say a couple 'cons' with the 'pros' so that I can grow as a writer, but whatever floats people's boats works for me. :) My stories generally consist of science fiction and fantasy, and (once I get around to finishing all of it) will probably be novels long... I'm also attempting to work with poetry.
As for reading preferences, generally, I'll read just about anything, though I do believe my soul lives and breathes science fiction and fantasy... Classical Literature is a thing to be appreciated if not loved and adored, and I enjoy the genre whenever I read it. If a book is recommended and labeled as 'Hilarious', I will read it, no matter what genre. I prefer long books to short books, merely because I read very fast; however short stories and poetry, I believe, are wonderful in that they are able to convey and express just as many (if not more) emotions and concepts as a larger work in a much smaller amount of space, which is a great feat when done well.
The arts, in general, are the focus of my existence. Music, art and literature are the things left behind by our predecessors for posterity to find, recognize, admire, and enjoy. Works of art epitomize the cultures and times in which they are created, and they live on through time, even if the creator of the work does not. I strive to be as much a part of that as I can, because everyone, in some way, strives for recognition.
