Prologue to Recon
Ryan ran into the dark room. All he could see before him was darkness and nothing. He walked forward into the darkness, deeper and deeper. Suddenly, something hit him. He looked back and didn’t see anything. He felt his head, where he had been hit. He felt a small bump where the pain was, but because he was a strong hero, he could heal himself. So he didn’t worry about the pain.
Suddenly, he tripped. He had no idea what had tripped him. Before he knew it, he was falling, and falling! Ryan had come to the conclusion that he had fallen off a balcony. Deeper and deeper he fell into the darkness. He fell further until he hit hard onto the cold, solid ground. He had no idea where he was now. All he could do is look around and hope that he wouldn’t be attacked again. Suddenly, a light shined toward him. It was small and vivid, but he could still see it. He looked closer toward the light.
It grew brighter and brighter until it flew toward him! He ducked quickly so that he wouldn’t get hit by it. It flew right over him. He then heard a loud noise when it flew past him, like it had exploded. It sounded as if it had hit a wall. Suddenly, items began to fall above and hit Ryan. He couldn’t see anything, so he could only hope he wouldn’t get hit by any of the falling items. Another light began to flash, followed by another, and another. Ryan began to panic. He quickly ducked as more and more of the flashing lights whooshed past him. Suddenly the whole room lit up with lights, he had been caught.
