Aaron woke up screaming. He bolted up in his bed sweating, and panting like crazy. His bright green eyes were looking wild. His jet-black air was sticking up in every direction. His usual bright expression was covered by a dark shadow. He took a deep breath and got out of his bed. “ Man, weird dream” he thought but he shrugged it off. He had more important things to think about. It was the last day of school and he needed to figure out how to avoid getting beaten to a pulp by Jason Smith. Yesterday Aaron had called him a “Dumb thug” and Jason grabbed him by the collar with his arm ready to punch, but luckily a teacher walked by and Jason immediately lost his grip and pretended to be “talking with Aaron.” Really he was calling him curse words under his breath. But as the teacher left, to Aarons luck, the final bell rang and even more students poured into the hallway than before. But under the chatter Aaron heard Jason say, “ Tomorrow will be a last day you’ll never forget Worm” Aaron shuddered at the memory. But he took a deep breath and put on his old orange T-shirt and faded jeans. “ Well” he thought “ I don’t mind getting blood on these” as he looked down at the outfit. He got his backpack and made sure he packed his First aid kit in his bag before heading downstairs. Aaron tiptoed down the stairs to avoid his grandmother’s gaze. As he reached the bottom of the stairs Aaron stopped at a group of photographs. He bit his lower lip as if in pain as he looked at the middle photo. In the picture there was a young couple in jeans and T-shirts. The women’s bright green eyes sparkled and the man’s dark black hair was sticking to his head with sweat. Each of them had dirt smudged on their cheeks and necks. Aaron sighed and picked up the picture. “See ya’ soon mom, and dad” he said under his breath. Aaron walked into the kitchen and opened the almost empty pantry. He grabbed an apple and turned around. “AAAHHH” yelped Aaron as he turned into a large thing… wait not a thing Aaron held his breath as he looked up at the towering figure… his grandmother. She looked like she crawled out of a rock. Her bright red hair was in a sloppy bun and she had bright orange eye shadow over her bright blue eyes. “What are you looking at twerp” she crocked as she glared at him. “ Nothing” he whispered, looking at the floor. “ Good “ she growled. Then she shoved him out of the way and went straight to the fridge. Aaron took a deep breath and walked out the front door. The sun shone bright in his eyes as he walked down the driveway. Aaron walked down the sidewalk and up the street. Then in the distance he saw a red brick building growing in the distance… his school. The school came close fast. Aaron looked up then went through the dark unwelcoming doors. Then as soon as he was in the building, it exploded
