Light flowed over the central square of a small village. Light reflected off the nearby buildings and people wondered across the square. Trees waved in the wind as they passed. Everyone was too busy rushing around me, sitting high in a tree, watching the world go by. The calmness blanketed the square but I knew it would not last.
Then as if to throw the blanket off, a loud group of giggling girls ran into the centre. Squealing and harassing everyone and anyone. They were looking for me. Calls of ‘Cosmo’ or even ‘Commie’ littered the air. They searched high and low. In every knock and cranny, but they didn’t look up as I sat in my fid tree, shaking with silent laughter. Those silly giggly girls. They may be in love with me, but they’ll never find me. As if I jinxed it, at that moment, they ran on and around the corner. I was so busy watch the dumb girls go by, I missed someone, standing, arms crossed, underneath my tree.
