"See you at Summer Solstice!" ☆☆☆ This was ALL Mystie and her twin brother Tripp heard the whole way to the ship. Summer Solstice this, Summer Solstice that... It was really aggravating Mystie, like flies in your ears. ☆☆☆ "Jeez, people!" she finally snapped from the pressure of it all. "It's just a dance! Big whoop!" Then, in a quiet, forlorn voice, she whispered to Tripp, "The biggest, most important dance of a fifteen year oldfield girl's life. And no one, not even Ranky Ralph, asked me to it." ☆☆☆ Tripp rolled his eyes and began brainstorming insults about how that was the stupidest thing he had ever heard. Glancing at her, though, he thought better of it and wrapped a brotherly, protective arm around her limp shoulders. ☆☆☆ "You really wanted to go, huh." ☆☆☆ Kicking a pebble into the crashing waves below the dock, Mystie nodded gravely. ☆☆☆ "I'm sorry." ☆☆☆ Mystie stopped walking and looked up in surprise. "Tripp! That's - that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me!" ☆☆☆ He shrugged. "You better appreciate it, 'cause that's all you're gonna get outta me." The baseball player winked playfully at her and gave her shoulders a tight squeeze before letting go.
