Lief turns to the side and sees Jeremiah coming closer. Jeremiah stands beside Lief.

"Everything alright."
"Yeah, just came out to take a breather."
"Um, about your story, I didn't say anything wrong, did I?"
"Oh...don't worry about it."
"Really, I said something wrong..."
"Well, actually I didn't want my friends to know that I was out with Asher training to become a knight."
"That's why you were gone?"

"Yes, I wanted to be a knight to help two of my friends retake something important and to be strong enough to protect the others. I didn't want them to know, not just yet anyways as they'd just worry about me. I want to continue training to become stronger which is why I hadn't revealed it, even though Asher finished training me I want to exercise more first."

"I understand." says Jeremiah, "I'd say you're already strong enough. Before you even came to the village you killed that cougar and saved Gavin, I still remember that. Well, I'll head back now." he says as he departs back to the restaurant leaving Lief to himself. As Lief stands outside breathing in the night air, he hears someone else approaching from the left side. He looks to see it's Odah.

"Oh it's you."
"Hey, Lief. You looked troubled when you left the restaurant so I came to see if you were alright."
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about things."
"What kind of things?"
"Just...you know I don't really know. I just have things on my mind since I came back."
"...Like, even though my training is complete will I be strong enough to protect the people around me?"
"I think you will. You seem like a very tough person to me."
"That's a nice thing to say, but there's just so much that I want to do, that I need to do."
"You're letting this take you over. Right now you need to relax, take things slow. Stop acting as if you can become stronger overnight."
"I know that, I understand it takes time but..."

Odah catches Lief's hand and holds it.

"Shh, don't over exert yourself. You need to take it slow for a minute...and let people love you."
"Love me? What do you mean?"

"I'll show you." Odah presses herself against Lief's chest gently, "Just close your eyes."

Lief closes his eyes. Odah moves closer to Lief. She closes her eyes and puckers her lips and moves even closer. Just before her lips can touch Lief's, he suddenly opens his eyes and sees Odah coming closer to him. He gently pushes her back and steps backwards.

"What do you think you're doing?"
"Oh, I..."
"You tried to kiss me didn't you?"

Odah holds her hands closer to her upper chest and panning her eyes to the side, looking diagonally towards the ground.

"Yes, I did."

Lief stands still for a second, his face slowly beginning to frown. Odah notices and shouts out.

"Look, I know you like that Arianna girl, it's clear as day. But I like you. Ever since you brought my little brother back to my house and I first saw you, you're all I can think about. I've tried time after time to speak to you but I never got any good opportunity to sit down and talk. If only you knew me better, you'd see that I'm a good person to be around, I could be one of your friends. I'm not a bad person, Lief. I truly, really do care for you." Odah's face saddens, "I know what you must be thinking of me...but I swear I'm a much better person then my impressions give."

Lief's frown fades, turning into a smile with a slight chuckle.

"Listen, Odah. It's not my place to judge you and it does seem that you're the kind of person who comes on strongly when things don't work out for you. Honestly, I always thought you were a sweet girl and I don't think you're a bad person, never did. You know, when I see you I see myself many months ago. I was obsessed with wanting to know more about Arianna and when I attempted to speak to her things didn't work out so well. I had to stop obsessing and life naturally took over and now we're the best of friends. If it can happen for someone like me, a goofball like me, then it can happen for you."

Odah pans her eyes down to her front, slowly raising them to Lief.

"Odah, I can't be in love with you, but I think in time I can care for you as a friend. I plan to keep training in the field outside the village if you'd like to speak to me sometime. Think I'd like being friends if you want."

Lief extends a hand out to Odah.

"What do you say, friends?"

Odah looks into Lief's eyes, then his hand before looking back to his eyes.

"Yeah, friends." says Odah calmly taking Lief's hand.

"Lief," a voice close by calls out. Arianna appears from the shadows walking fast towards Lief.

"I'll see you later." says Odah to Lief.

Odah walks on passing Arianna who walks toward Lief. Odah pauses and glances behind to see Arianna hugging Lief, listing to them from the distance.

"Lief, we're all worried about you. Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine now."

"Come on, let's go to the festival. It reminds me of the one we went to in Elegand. Let's go see it. Come on!"

"Alright then, let's go."

"You two stay close." says Odah quietly to herself. She walks back to the restaurant thinking to herself.

'I'm happy we finally got to speak to each other, but I can't help but feel that it could had went better.' she stops walking briefly and pauses, clenching her hands together, 'I know you don't feel the same way about me as I do you, Lief. But still...'

Together Lief and Arianna leave and find the others waiting near the restaurant entrance where they all walk to the festival together, spending the night enjoying the festivities.
