"Has the building been secured?" asked a man in a police uniform. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He and another officer stood outside of a large museum. The streets were quiet with no one in sight.
"All stations are secure Chief. There's no way she could break in," said the other officer.
"Let's hope your right. Today is the day when the museum got their new artifact. Akari has a rather large reputaion for stealing items like these. The museum head is scared stiff for his latest exhibit," said the Chief.
"Don't worry Chief. We'll definitely catch her this time."
"Ah, so the Chief and his men are here? It's always more fun when he's here," giggled Akira. She was on the roof of a tall building a few blocks from the museum and was watching from a pair of high tec binoculars.
"All right, let's do this." Akari put her binoculars in her pouch that was on her belt. She jumped off the building and landed on the roof of a house. She leaped from rooftop to rooftop with high speed.
Once she got close to the museum she waited a few moments. Then she took out a gun and shot it. A rope flew out of it and hooked itself to the museum roof. She jumped off and swung threw the air undetected by the officers. Akari quietly climbed down the wall till she stopped above a certain window that was wide open.
That's the room to the artifact. A trap? No, it doesn't feel right, but not a trap.
Akari swung herself into the window and landed silently onto the floor. She saw a shadowy character approach the artifact. The artifact was a brightly colored jewels that shined even in the night as it gave off a light blue glow. The shadow was that of a man and his hand slowly approached the case. As he was about to touch it a knife hit right below his hand. He turned around surprised.
"Sorry, but I cannot let you walk away with that," said Akari holding another knife in her hand.
"I know who you are," said the man. He stepped forward allowing the moonlight from the window show his face.
He was a tall, lean man with blonde hair. His eyes were a deep blue an shined in the light. He wore a long white coat along with a dark blue vest and black dress pants. He looked nothing like the thieves that Akari has seen, he had class and seemed to have a good life. And yet, Akari couldn't help but be captivated by his looks.
"You are the ancient's thief Akari, are you not?" he said in a soft tone. "With such a well known thief, it's an honor to meet in person."
Akari blinked back in surprise, but shook herself back into focus. "Sorry I don't really go for flattery. Now I'll be the one who's taking that home with me," she said looking at the gem.
'Now now, I think we can work this out," he said walking over to her. Akari moved quickly and held the knife to his throat.
"I would think twice about doing anything funny," said Akari very serious.
"Hey now, a gentleman such as myself would do nothing of the sort," he said calmly. He put his hands on Akari's and slowly lowered the dagger from his neck.
As Akari was about to open her mouth she heard yelling outside. She rushed to the window and saw a few officers yelling at each other. They pointed to the window and called for backup. She turned around and saw the man grab the jewel from it's case.
"Hey!" she yelled. She ran after him but she stopped when he was standing on the window sill. He grabbed her arm and pulled her to him and gave her a kiss on the lips.
"Sorry Akari, but this one's mine tonight," he said smiling. He jumped off the window and vanished into the night.
