The Golden Scepter
Prologue
Lanore is a dying land. Its once happy fields where children used to frolic are now consumed by dark forces. Its fields are charred and blackened. Ominous, dark clouds hang heavily in the grey sky, blocking out any feeble sunlight. Dark streams of smoke from battles litter the sky. Dark forces roam this dying land, terrorizing the civilians that now remain. These civilians live underground, their temporary safety. But they know they aren’t safe. The dark forces will find them and they will die. Only a legend brings them hope, the Golden Scepter. Legend says that this staff of their ancient ancestors could banish the dark forces forever, leaving only a land of joy and life. Yet not many believe in this legend, thinking of it as an old wives’ tale. Those who do certainly do not attempt to find it for the scepter is hidden away in the Cravis Mountains, in a cold cave that whispers your fears and make them come alive. Only the brave dared to enter…..and no one came out. But the civilians are dwindling, death at every corner. Those who remain believe in the legend vainly. It is their only hope. The only light in their miserable life. The only star in the grey skies. And only the Chosen One can find it.
