The sound of the front door opening startled me awake and I quickly crawled out of bed. "It's nice to see you again," Marie said from downstairs.

"I'm so happy you guys let me stay," a girl's voice replied to Marie as I came to the top of the stairs and glanced to the front door to see a girl with long brown hair and light blue eyes standing next to Marie. The girl held a large suitcase and dragged an even larger suitcase behind her.

The girl quickly noticed I was standing at the stairs and looked up at me and studied the baggy jeans and black shirt I wore. She then shyly glanced at Marie who looked up at me. "Aaron, you're up early," Marie smiled then the girl frowned.

"Aaron? I didn't recognize you with your hair that color," she stated awkwardly.

"Why's everyone talking all of a sudden?" Chobi muttered as he stumbled into me. "Who's that?" Chobi asked as he looked at me but pointed at the girl. I didn't reply so Chobi looked at my face to see I was holding an expression of confusion and a hint of regret.

"Aaron, why do you look so sad to see Clora?" Marie asked me then I frowned and quickly went back to my room.

"Aaron, wait," Clora, the girl, yelled weakly after me then sighed when I slammed my door shut.

"Are you an old friend or something?" Chobi asked the girl as he leaned against the railing of the upper floor.

"Clora and Aaron were childhood friends a long time ago. Clora moved away but now she's moving in next door but her parents couldn't come with her yet so they asked if she could stay with us. Cloud and I said yes but we thought Aaron would be happy to see Clora," Marie sighed sadly then Clora gave Chobi a strange look.

"Who are you?" She asked Chobi who smiled happily.

"I'm Aaron's long lost brother and twin," Chobi answered and Clora gasped.

"What?" She asked out loud.

"Er, Aaron was adopted by the way," Marie muttered and Clora gasped again.

"What?" She nearly yelled.

"We adopted him when he mysteriously appeared on our doorstep. Then we recently found Chobi and discovered that they are related," Marie muttered with sudden awe and wonder.

I sat on my bed as I thought about Clora and her sudden appearance. We had been friends once until something happened, something I can't remember and she began to call me names similar to freak. I rubbed my head with frustration. She then moved a few days after that and I had never met anybody else until I had run into Chobi. I was afraid of what people might think or say to me for the longest time since Clora left until I had come to think that it didn't matter what everyone else thought.

We might have been children when we were friends but those moments when she hated me, they still haunt me. I thought I had forgotten about those days but no, they are still with me. They are still in the back of my head. Those days are the memories I dread more than anything.

"Aaron," Clora said from the other side of my door. I quickly stood up as she opened my door and I gave her a fearful expression. "Aaron, we should sit down and talk," Clora muttered then I grew a hated expression.

"I have nothing to say to you, Clora," I spat her name then I approached my door, gripped my door knob, and glared at her. "I don't want to speak to you, ever," I growled then I slammed my door shut and locked it.

"Aaron," Marie gasped from downstairs.

"Aaron, look, I'm sorry, I can't remember what it is I had done wrong. We should talk to each other for a few minutes, you know, to catch up," Clora said then I opened my door and shoved past her as if she were infected with an illness.

"Stay away from me," I said then I went to walk downstairs when Chobi gripped my arm.

"Hey, she's trying to talk with you," Chobi said with a hint of confusion then I glared into his eyes.

"Let me go," I yelled as I yanked my arm free then sprinted downstairs and outside.

I sat out on a bench within the park as I thought silently to myself. "Aaron," Chobi said as he approached me.

"What is it?" I asked as I glanced at him.

"Who is Clora?" Chobi asked me while he took the space next to me.

"She's just someone from my past. Someone I thought I had forgotten about but seeing her is bringing back a lot of memories I wish I didn't have to have," I answered.

"What was it she did to you?" Chobi asked me as he continued to look at me.

"I guess in a way it was something we both had done. I don't remember what exactly it was that happened but she grew terrified of me and refused to come near me when Marie and Cloud had to babysit her," I answered him.

"I sat down and talked to Clora a bit. She seems like a really nice person," Chobi said then I stood up.

"Yeah, well she was a nice person once," I muttered then I began to walk away.

"Aaron," Clora said as she approached me.

I turned to look at her. "Aaron, we need to talk," Clora said then I sighed.

"I'll listen," I said then she walked up to my right side.

We began to walk out in town, followed by Chobi who stood to my left. "I'm really sorry about the past. I can't remember what happened but I want to be your friend again," Clora said to me with a small smile.

"Yeah, I don't remember either but I still remember those things you said to me. You know for a very long time I didn't like people because of you," I said as I glanced at Chobi.

"It's safe to say out loud you kind of still don't like people," Chobi muttered as he folded his arms.

"Do you think Roy has talked to Marie and Cloud yet?" I asked Chobi who shrugged then Clora gave us both a strange look.

"What are you talking about? Who's Roy?" Clora asked then she yelped when a kid on a skateboard nearly knocked her over.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" I yelled after the kid who flipped the bird at me causing me to flush in anger.

"It's alright, he didn't mean it," Clora sighed as she rubbed her shoulder then she glanced across the street. "Ember?" Clora muttered then Chobi looked to see Ember entering a store.

"You know Ember?" Chobi asked.

"She's my cousin's best friend. We sometimes hang out together during the summer," Clora answered as she quickly began to cross the pedestrian walk way while the walking symbol turned into the stop hand then I quickly ran forwards when a car came skidding around the corner.

"Clora look out!" I yelled and she froze in her steps just as Ember stopped to look back.

The car showed no signs of hesitation as it came at Clora. I gripped Clora's shoulders and held my back to the car just as people began to gasp and scream. "Clora!" Ember screamed just as the car came right at our legs.

There wasn't any time to move out of the way and so I used the only method I could to save Clora's life. A force field of energy formed around us and the car rammed into it like a plastic model hitting a solid wall. The blue markings then formed on my skin as I gripped Clora's wrist and ran as quickly as I could to leave the scene.
