Chapter 7
Black mist crawling all over his body now except his heart, Rufus stood watching the Captain. After a few moments of mutual neutrality Rufus charged forward at the Captain. Eleven Forty, just twenty more minutes and he would be able to fight him, he just needed to last a wee bit more. Before he could reach the Captain, the Captain sent a shockwave tossing Rufus away like a ragdoll and into the ground. Then the Captain walked up to him and kicked him in the shoulder sending him spinning. Trying to crawl away, Rufus was picked up by the belt and thrown backwards.
The Captain walked up to Rufus and grabbed him by the kneck. In defiance Rufus lashed out with a punch to the Captain’s face. Once again he was tossed away like a child’s toy. When the Captain was near enough Rufus spun round and punched forward. The Captain quicker than him grabbed his hand and bent his arm back breaking the bone and then throwing him. Eleven fifty, let’s get this over with, Rufus thought to himself. Kicking the Captain’s knee Rufus grounded him and then using a rugby tackle he punched him repeatedly. The Captain then simply pushed him back sending him flying away.
They fought for another fifteen minutes until the Captain landed a hit on Rufus sending him away. Rufus dropped into a pile of wood and rubble and lay for a second when suddenly black mist formed all around him. The Captain growled and pulling out his knife jamp into the mist to finish off Rufus.
Down and down the Captain flew into what seemed like the never ending mist until he stopped, his mouth stood open wide. At the end of his knife caught between two hands Rufus’ face, just centimetres away from the tip of the knife. Rufus smiled, his heart now covered in black mist and kicked the Captain and sent him high into the air.
Before the Captain could even land on the ground Rufus teleported in a cloud of black mist and knocked the Captain to the ground.
“No!” the Captain shouted drawing everything towards him in a whirlwind of rubble and dust. “This isn’t how it’s supposed to be, you’re supposed to die!”
He threw object after object and Rufus with a flick of his wrist evaporated them or threw them out of his way. The Captain charged at Rufus swinging wildly in anger at him while Rufus calmly blocked them all and knocked him to the ground.
And then the Captain started to laugh. “It’s all over for you anyway, look at your friends, they’re surrounded”
Rufus turned to see Laura and Ugh surrounded my illuminati and hell demons. “Not unless I end this now”
Rufus charged at the Captain and after deflecting some of his futile lunges he grabbed him in a head lock and pushed him towards the well of souls.
“No! No! Not there, not there!” he screamed, his eyes bulging with fear.
Rufus did not pay attention the Captain’s screams and pushed them until the well of souls was in reaching distance.
“You said you want to see a new world, time to see it” Rufus whispered into his ear.
“You go to hell!” the Captain shouted in defiance.
“No, let’s go together” Rufus said and pushing his hand into the Captain’s wound where the spear was pushed it outwards and into himself connecting the spear. “You’re right, I was always going to die, but so will you” he said and touched the well and a beam of light shone out from the well. Suddenly all the hell demons were dragged along to the well and sucked down into a vortex of fire howling with rage and fear.
Once it was over Rufus fell to the ground and looked to the ceiling and collapsed.
Two minutes later Laura and Ugh ran in shocked and Laura swept Rufus into her arms. “Rufus? Rufus? Stay with us, come on, you’re not dying here, no, not now” as she said this Rufus’ head fell back and his body dissipated into black mist.
