Scene 1
EXT. A TOWN- EARLY MORNING
The Time: March 1, 1901. People are calling out to advertise their markets. It is raining. A scummy looking man with a peg leg walks by a few stands. He is Captain of the pirates. While he is walking by a stand full of fruits he takes an apple. The man behind the counter notices. The man behind the counter has a big pot belly. He is angry that this man stole from his stand.
GRUFF_MAN
Hey! You have to pay!
The pirate ignores the man and keeps on walking. He takes a bite out of the apple. GRUFF_MAN gets angrier and steps in front of the counter. He grabs the pirate’s shoulder roughly. The pirate turns around immediately.
GRUFF_MAN
Don’t be a thief! You have to pay like everybody else.
The pirate draws his sword and EVERYONE stops advertising and guide their attention to the pirate and GRUFF_MAN.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Oh do I? Because it looks to me that I’m not the one with a sword pointed at me.
The man who was behind the basket place comes up to GRUFF_MAN with two swords. He hands one to GRUFF_MAN. They both point their swords at CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER.
GRUFF_MAN
Ah ha! Now the tables have turned!
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER shows no change in emotion.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
I’m so petrified.
GRUFF_MAN lunges for CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER with his sword but CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER deflects it. As the GRUFF_MAN and STEVE lunge for CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER he deflects every time and music comes in.
STEVE
Why can’t you cooperate?
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
It’s pathetic how you two think you can win against the greatest captain in the world?
STEVE attacks CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER with his sword near his head and GRUFF_MAN attacks near low. CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER is fighting with both of them at the same time. CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER launches both of the men’s swords to the right.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Look down.
STEVE and GRUFF_MAN look down and their trousers fall down. CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER laughs then he runs. He stops near some barrels then he kicks them towards the markets. While STEVE is pulling his trousers up he speaks.
STEVE
That darn pirate strikes again! We need to catch him once and for all. Him and his crew need to be terminated. Right?
EVERYONE
Right!
STEVE
What we need to do is setup a trap?
EVERYONE
A trap? How?
STEVE
We set up what a pirate wants most
EVERYONE
What’s that?
STEVE
Gather around everyone and lend me your ears. I will tell you how we’ll get rid of those pirates once and for all!
EVERYONE gathers around STEVE and listens to what he says. What they don’t know is that there is a undercover pirate in that group.
STEVE
Money! Gold! Things with value! That’s what those pirates are after. If we set out that stuff in public we could trap them. We would get a net or something and trap them when we want to. We would have everything ready for them. It would be just like a mouse and a mouse trap. The mouse takes the bait then… SNAP!!!!
The pirate sneaks out of the group with their hood up. The pirate hides behind a building and draws the cloak of f. He runs to the pirate ship. When he gets to the ship he shouts up.
WESLEYSON
Captain BlackSilver! Come down here right away! I have news to spread.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER grabs a rope then hops down. He stands in front of WESLEYSON.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
What? What is it?
WESLEYSON
The town people are planning a trap.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Those people are idiots. They know nothing. What could they have possibly come up with?
WESLEYSON
They plan on having us take their bait of gold and valuables. They plan on using a giant net.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Who’s their ring leader?
WESLEYSON
The basket man.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Ha! That Steve is a terrible sword fighter. Him and that gruff man are both terrible with swords. I beat them both without a sweat. We’ll have to kill that Steve. He is the idiot. That’s the thing about pirates. We actually think out our plans correctly. We don’t dive into it like town people.
WESLEYSON
Well, yes.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Fascinating! Isn’t it not? We will get that Steve and maybe even that whole town if we have to. Steve is first then the gruff man then maybe that blacksmith boy. Fun! Wouldn’t it?
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. A SMALL HOUSE-NIGHT
A Teenage girl with a doll is talking to STEVE. STEVE is sitting on the ground. A woman next to STEVE is cooking on a small fire.
ENYMUS
How was your day daddy?
STEVE
I fought with a pirate.
ENYMUS
Oh dear. Which one?
STEVE
The leader of the pirates that roam around this part of town. Captain Blacksilver I believe his name.
ENYMUS
You must have been scared out of your mind.
STEVE
Indeed I was. I was beyond scared. But the town’s people and I are planning on catching him and his treacherous crew.
ENYMUS
Anyone as smart as you could do it daddy. You fit the job perfectly.
STEVE
Yes. Well, these pirates are smarter than the average pirate. I just hope they fall for the trap I am planning for them.
ENYMUS
They will. No one is smarter than you.
STEVE chuckles.
STEVE
I only wish.
There is a loud sudden knock on the door. The woman cooking looks up from her small fire.
ANITTA
Who could that be at this time of night?
ANITTA calls to the door.
ANITTA
Who’s outside knocking on my husband’s door?
There is a fake squeaky voice heard.
VOICE
It’s an old friend here to say hello.
ANITTA
I’ll get it.
ANITTA stands up weakly and goes to the door. She opens it so she can peer at the person who is WESLEYSON.
WESLEYSON
Good evening madam. Will you please give this message to Steve? It is a very important message.
WESLEYSON hands over a piece of paper to ANITTA.
ANITTA
Thank you. What is it?
WESLEYSON walks away and ANITTA closes the door. ANITTA studies the paper. She flips it over to the backside and there is a black spot on it. ANITTA screams and drops the paper.
STEVE
What is it?
ANITTA
It’s a black spot on that paper.
STEVE
A black spot!
ENYMUS
What does a black spot mean?
ANITTA
It is a pirate death summon.
ENYMUS
Does that mean daddy is not going to live?
ANITTA
It might be. You two stay here and I will inform the town about this note! Do not leave this place! Not even for a second.
ANITTA runs out of the place quick and urgently.
STEVE
What would any pirate have against me?
ENYMUS
Well, there is that one you fought with earlier today.
STEVE
Oh, yes! Yes. He would want to cause me harm.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER bursts into the room with his sword drawn.
STEVE
Blacksilver!
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
We meet again, Steve. Or should I say world’s worst sword fighter?
STEVE
Please no.
STEVE edges away from CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER and CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER edges to him.
ENYMUS
You can beat him dad. He is a pirate!
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
Shut up little girl! Do you have any finally words?
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER points the sword at STEVE’S neck.
STEVE
I want to say I love you and your mother, Enymus.
STEVE dies of fear and ENYMUS jumps up.
ENYMUS
You killed my father!
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER points his sword at ENYMUS but instead he puts it away.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER
He actually died on his own. Without my help at all. In fear of me mostly.
ENYMUS
You still killed him.
CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER moves to ENYMUS and kisses her quickly on the mouth. ENYMUS spits. CAPTAIN_BLACKSILVER laughs. Then he runs out the door. ENYMUS runs to the doorway and shouts.
ENYMUS
I will get my revenge! One of these days. You wait and see!
