Everything was ending. The world was ending. The war was ending. I was ending. I tried not to tremble as the cold, salty wind whipped my face and my hair flew back behind me. I glanced behind my shoulder into the dark, rocky shores beneath the bridge. I saw movement from the corner of my eye and glanced up. So they finally found me, as I knew they always would. I looked towards the sky, towards the sun behind the heavy layer of gray clouds looming above. This wouldn't be such a bad place to go out. Quite dramatic. The men in tattered suits closed in around me, aiming their guns towards my head. They wouldn't shoot. What would they accomplish by doing that? I was the key to their plan. Without me, they could do nothing but go one with their innumerable schemes, always destined to fail. I was the only one on earth who knew what they needed. The information that would drive any man mad with greed and inevitably destroy the world in one way or another. The information that almost every possible government and conspiracy groups were after. So what was I to do? Let the world fall to ruin, but save myself, or sacrifice myself for the good of billions of people. Almost anyone you ask would choose the latter, but let me tell you this: It's easier said than done. A pitch black Jeep zoomed up behind the men and my bosses stepped out and shielded by the doors, cocked their guns and aimed at my captors. One of them spoke up, "Stand down! For God's sake, she's just a child!", his tired voice trembling. I wasn't a child. I was nearly 15. But I had been through more than the average person does in their entire life in the course of the past few weeks. I was no longer a child. I tried to speak, but I was exhausted and my voice was lost in the wind. I gave my boss my most confident look and I could tell, he knew what I was thinking. I knew what I had to do. And I wasn't scared. "Just come with us, sweetie and nobody will get hurt. We'll even leave your little pals over there unharmed if you're good." Said a man to my right. I raised my eyebrow at him. It wasn't worth my time to talk my way out of things like I usually do. I shifted my gaze back to the boss and raised my hand in a cheesy salute. I could see his mouth begin to form the word "No!". In one swift movement, I pivoted on my heels, ran a few steps and leapt off the edge of the bridge. For an instant, I was suspended in midair. The world was frozen around me. It felt like all the time in the world, and yet it was over before I knew it happened. The ground raced toward me and smiled. This was a good death. I saved the world by doing this. That's how I always wanted to die, but maybe not at such a young age. I didn't scream as I fell. I plummeted toward the black abyss in silence; with dignity. I wasn't scared. Then all at once the waves consumed me and the world went black. Everything had ended. And I was happy.
