Family continuity is the theme of this particular poem.
Wanda L. Harrell, poet and author, was born in York County, PA. She spent her formative years in Washington County, TN where her first published work was PATHS TO THE FUTURE, a poem for the Boones Creek High School Class of 1966. From 1973, she resided in Jacksonville, FL. In 2004 she moved just a few miles north to a small town in SE Georgia.Following the demise of her 25-year marriage, Wanda began writing in earnest. In those nine years, she has penned one novel, OUT OF THE BOX; two books of poetry; hundreds of poems; a cookbook and one non-fiction work.
Wanda won Third Place in the international VOICES OF SERENITY competition, sponsored by The Ancient Wind Press. Her work has received several Editor's Choice awards, numerous honorable mention awards. In addition to OUT OF THE BOX, she is published in several poetry anthologies in the United States and England.
In addition to her writings, Wanda has made two spoken word recordings of her poetry. They are now available online as a complete CD or individual downloads at most music download sites.
Currently, she is working on a new novel and collaborating on song lyrics with Umphrey Jackson of Miami, FL.
