My first attempt is entitled "Dawdling Ducks" was written in the spirit of the movies American Graffiti, Dazed and Confused and Super Bad. The book is a subtle action/comedy of cruising, conflict, hot rodding, drag racing, romance, rumbles, car crashes and life changing decisions of Midwest teens during a single wild eventful cold January night in 1976.
I have written an intro for another book that I have only outlined but not written at this point. I plan to write the book in the spirit of Patrick O'Connor A.K.A. Leonard Wibberley's "Black Tiger" series. The book's working title is "Life a Quarter Mile at a Time". The story is about Jeff a character from "Dawdling Ducks" and his quest of becoming a pro-drag racer. I like the name I chose for the book but may be little too Vin Diesel. I will keep it until I can think of a better name.
The short essay Tree on the Hill" I wrote for fun after I saw a writing contest prompt while surfing the net. The contest was over by the time I saw the web page, however the prompt of a lone tree on a hill struck a nerve and I wrote the essay.
After reading the complete set of novels of the AubreyMaturin series by Patrick O'Brian, I really wanted to write a short story in Patick O'Brian's style of writing. Again, I found inspiration in a history scholarship contest while surfing the web. This short story was my first attempt at writing for fun.
My last Novel is entitled The Transformation of Lucas Apple. It is a modern remake of the Roman classic, "The Golden Ass".
My short story entitled "Phillip Kippelton" is rewrite of the Greek tragedy "Philoktetes"
