Amy Michelle Mosier grew up in Tucson, Arizona. At 12, she taught herself Sign Language. Starting in junior high, she studied Spanish at school. In an essay contest, she won a free writing class at the University of Arizona when she was 15, however, she couldn't attend because her family lost a house during a recession, which forced them to move to Phoenix. She continued to study Spanish through high school and college. She attended Mesa Community College and Pima Medical Institute. 9/11 inspired her to study Arabic on her own for the purpose of online missionary work. In her spare time, she hikes, which has been a source of inspiration to her, and dabbles in desert survival and video production. She resides in Phoenix beside her husband.
