Now I don't mind getting read requests, I like seeing how people push up their story. Chances are I won't read it though, I'm a lazy one, but you are more than welcome to ask. There are though things (that you will find below) that will make me pretty much definitely not read it. Things that will make me read no further - Horror or gore - anything with character pictures attached (unless you've drawn them yourself) - If you call me doll face, or babe or any of those things in my rant below - If you tell me I'll like it (eg. I promise it'll be worth your while!) - If you use abbreviations (I'm challenged in that area so I probably won't understand you anyway... totes) - If your request takes longer than a minute to read I'm going to presume you've summarised the whole story and I don't need to read it. - If there is not a hi or a please or a thank you of any sort (and there only needs to be one of those), then I'll take it as a demand. -If you say God bless you - And if it's on BooksieSilk. For two reasons; one, I don't want to read that stuff, and two, I can't be bothered to get to BooksieSilk and search for your story. And that's it for now. Gosh I probably seem like the most horrible, hating-everything person. And all my friends would call me the one that never hates anything, it's true.

Just a quick rant whilst I wait for something to copy and paste. I bet there's actually a few people out there who hate this (whew I'm not alone), but it's when people create a contest and don't follow up with it. They either start in and change their mind about it, leaving everyone hanging, or they start it, go all the way to the end and announce the winners and don't give out the prizes. You have taken the time and effort to create something that they want you to read, and they don't show the courtesy of following through with what they promised. I know myself, with the one contest I have held, that it took me awhile to follow through with it, so I do not mind waiting, but I think a year is enough waiting done. Ah copy and paste done, ciao.

What else would you find here but another rant, and this is one that probably annoys me more than all the others. It's when people say 'God bless you'. You do not know my religion. For all you know I could be the biggest God-hating-let's-go-on-a-massacre-and-kill-anyone-who-believes-in-God person. Perhaps I'll just put in here that I'm not, and I'm not an atheist either. This started to annoy me when someone said God bless you and I realised that my God wasn't the same to the one they were referring to. Funnily enough, I don't want to be blessed by your God (despite the fact I don't believe they exist), I still don't like the notion. It just annoys me when people say that, and they don't know anything about my religion. To put it straight, I don't want to be blessed by a stranger's God.

Ah I am in my ranting mood today, where shall I go next? Well this one doesn't annoy me as much as the other one, but it still tickles my nerves. It's when people leave read requests telling me they've updated their story, and I didn't even know they had written that story to begin with. I don't mind if I've read the story before and people tell me they've updated it, but when I had no idea the story existed and I'm being told it's updated... I don't care if it's been updated because I never read the original. What would not bother me is if you asked me to read the story first, because I won't notice any of the updates and it'll be new to me. And that's all I have to say on that matter, just a short rant this time, because I find the others more vexing.

Well I think this is going to become my rant page (I mean, what else would people want to do on this site, write?) Perhaps I've become some cranky old grump with nothing better to do. Actually I have too much to do these days, this must be how I procrastinate. Well, shall I begin my rant after my lead-up (it doesn't even need a question mark because I know the answer before the question was finished). What I do not like, is character pictures. I have opinions on character pictures, opinions and presumptions, which make me not like stories (or novels more likely) with them. To sum it up, I think all stories with character pictures are fictional fantasies created by the author in hopes of things that will never possibly happen. Namely; accidentally bumping into a movie star and falling in love, falling in love with the cute guy, falling in love with the rebel after spending their whole life hating them (who of course, is cute), falling on love with someone. Well, not all the stories are about falling in love, but I'm gonna put out there that most of them are. To know what's going to happen, without even reading the summary, isn't that fun. And the pictures are always of cute/hot/gorgeous males (without shirts) and females, and they always seem to be teenagers too. They're never plain, or boring, so of course someone's going to fall in love with them, how could they not with a face like that. In my view, a good story shouldn't need pictures to go with it, it defeats the purpose of a story being made up of words and instead makes it visual. A writer should be able to explain their characters, not have to use pictures. I could go on a long time about character pictures. There is an exception though, where I will applaud your character pictures. This is if you draw them yourselves. If you can draw them yourself then I don't think there's anything wrong with that because that's just displaying another of your talents (which I wish I had). So to sum up my rant, characters pictures are just fantasies of desperate teens wanting to fall in love with the next cute guy round the corner. Perhaps that's a little too presumptive, let's try again. To sum up again, character pictures are fantasies of people wanting things they will never have but at least can enjoying running through their head. End of rant, I'm done.

I have issues with people calling me things. You don't know me, I don't want to be called sexy, true story. So here is a nice list of things that I'd rather you not call me: Sexy, friend, babe, gorgeous, doll face (I won't be reading further than that if you call me that, I have big opinions on being called doll face), cutiepie, chick, gal, and there are many more. I'm just really pedantic about this, I don't know you, you don't know me. (Now if you actually do talk to me often I don't mind what you call me). But when I get a reading request that starts with 'Hey sexy babe' I'm seriously going to think you want to get me into your bed. A simple 'hey' does suffice. Rant over, I'm done. And the moral of this, stick with my name, or nothing at all. Night all ya'll sexy chicks. (Sorry it was tempting)
