Dealing with doubt and yet you live like everything is...
Well, my name is Caylan Ladd. I was born in Lawton, Oklahoma but mostly lived back and forth in Texas and Wisconsin. In 7th grade, I realized how much I liked writing being in a Creative Writing class. In doing this, two friends of mine at the time and myself created this fantasy world in which became the bases for my novel, Wages of Chaos. I've been working on this ever since then. I wrote a bunch of rough drafts when I was 17 and I based a lot of my story on circumstances or friends that I had.
Later in my life, I realized how bad of an idea this was when I created a good foundation for the novel's plot. I have switched things here and there quite a lot since then but now I have what I want. Being an artist too, it's been a really cool experience seeing my characters, and scenes come to life. Being that I went to four different high schools, each school had a lot of impact on my writing. The last year of my high school era, I went into another Creative Writing class and really sharpened up my writing by doing a short story called Song Wars, based off of Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
Some hard things had happened in that time period, but eventually I was able to take a year off of school and work. Having time to sharpen my writing up more by coming up with more details for my plot. Having short stories for my main characters as side projects to which I never finished but it was helpful just to see who the kind of people they were outside of this novel. August of 2012 I joined Madison Master's Commission in Madison, WI. This school is a 9 month program for ministry and discipleship training. Giving up 9 months of my life to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to see Him move in my life and see what it is He wants me to do in my life. I did accept Christ into my life in a young age but haven't started to live it out until two to three years ago when in joined IHOP in '09.
Having Jesus and His word a big part of my life. I've been able to recently make my novel an sci-fi/fantasy analogy of creation, the fall, redemption, and restoration from the Bible. I really hope this works out and people really enjoy my writing. Thank you for reading this and taking time to read my writings.
