The ore's onboard
and I's just about to lift-off when I'd felt a rumblin' in my
gut. That's when I member I had'n ate yet. So, I reversed the
hover lifters, landed Hiatus back down softly, and headed for
Man, I tell you
I's so hungry once I got in that ol' place I could ate the
chair I's sittin' on.They's got some good grub there; jus' like
Momma used to make.
I member Momma
used to make this ol' cassero' wit' noodles, fish and cream'a
mushroom soup. It didn' cost all that many credit's and since
we weren' much to havin' many we'd eat that stuff nearly ever'y
week. Daddy'd eat it but didn' like it much.
Momma make and Daddy like' to eat was called Goulash. Don't
member why she called it that. All's it was, was 'em spiral
noodle wit' mater sauce and groun' beef. We eat that wit' some
butter'd bread and boy-howdy, that was some good eatin'!
On them special
'ccasions she'd make some scallop taters and ham. An't nothin'
like some warm scallop taters 'n ham on them cool Texas Sys'em
Pitts got some
pertty good taters and ham, so I's got me some. Guess, that's
what made me get all rem'niscent and such. I's sittin' there
eatin' them taters and thinkin' a home.
happin' when I's sittin' there, all's bout finish'd. This
ind'in come'd on in wit' the big ol' head'ress n' all. That ol'
feller be talkin' ta me tellin' me he needs a ride but I barely
be understanin' a word he was sayin'.
He said this here
to me: Chief Nebula, need big starship to carry many horses
from Fort Bush to Colorado.Chief have many credits. Chief will
pay starship captain when horses safe on Pueblo Station.
This here what I
said to the Chief:Listen here Chief, I'd be happy to take ya
and them horses to that ol' station in Colorad'y. Only thing is
I an't got the Jump Gate codes to that Colorad'y sector. But
I's be flyin' right past that Fort Bush so I'ma willin' ta take
ya there, won't cost ya none.
So guess who's on
board this ol' Hiatus now. Some ol' ind'in chief, who's talk so
funny I can't un'stand much of anythin' he's a sayin'!
This here's Sam
Lonnigan an' I fly Rhino's for livin'.
