The Bird Who Never Sang

Poetry By: Barefoot
Childrens stories

My favorite poems are usually stories or analogies. Perhaps they only mean something to me; perhaps that makes me like them more.

The bird who never sang

Lived in a rusty cage

Hanging from the wall

He shies away from stupid rage

But watches, quiet,

And in his head

Stirs thoughts worth thinking

Worth speaking; instead

He sees the bars and does not move

He sees the food dish and the bowl

The empty perch, the world's whole

He knows, but he does not speak.
