The Monkey and The Alligator

Poetry By: elizabethrose
Childrens stories

This poem is about a monkey and an alligator. I wrote this because it was a dream my sister had and she said I should make a story out of it.

Swinging from vine to vine

The monkey flies between the trees

Swinging from vine to vine

The monkey is seen picking fleas

Swimming to and fro

The alligator cools off in the heat

Swimming to and fro

The alligator searches for a treat

Swinging from vine to vine

The monkey heeds the alligator

Swinging from vine to vine

The monkey forgets about the agitator

Swimming to and fro

The alligator sees the monkey on the way

Swimming to and fro

The alligator get ready to play

Swinging from vine to vine

The monkey slips just a bit

Swinging from vine to vine

The monkey see the gator and wants to split

Swimming to and fro

The alligator opens wide his mouth

Swimming to and fro

The alligator sees the monkey fall south

Swinging vine to vine

The monkey falls down

Swinging vine to vine

The monkey would rather drown

Swimming to and fro

The alligator clamps his teeth sternly

Swimming to and fro

The alligator realizes he was too early

The monkey fell headfirst

The alligator almost burst

Because when they touched yet

It was their lips that met
