It was a warm summer day. Macy was lying on her bed at her grandma's house bored to tears. Her mother was on a trip to Africa when she became ill and had to have major surgery right away. She would not be back in America for another three weeks and Macy really missed her.
What Macy really missed were the adventures she would have with her mother at the park, the beach, the pool in the back yard. Macy's mom was great and grandma hasn't been keeping her adventurous side alive. " I have to do something about my boredom." Macy said "It’s extremely bad for my imagination."

So one day Macy waited until her grandmother went to sleep at 5:00. She knew her grandmother would wake up at 6:30 and that gave her enough time to set out on an adventure. As soon as the clock struck 5:00 she crept out her window and she saw a girl crying.
Macy hated to see people cry so she tried to comfort the girl and asked her what the problem was. The little girl said " My kite is stuck in the tree." Macy was always a fearless girl. She never back down when a challenge was presented and when you are facing a kite stuck in a 10 foot tall tree and you're only 4 feet tall that sounds like a challenge doesn't it?

Well Macy pulled her sleeves back and rolled up her pants legs and started to climb that tree. She fell after a few tries but then she remembered something she saw on the discovery channel. The people who climbed up trees to get coconuts had a shirt they used help pull them up the tree. So she took her top shirt off and used it like the people on the discovery channel to climb successfully to the top of the tree and to release the kite. Then she slowly made her way down. Before she could even let both feet touch the ground the little girl grabbed her  and gave her the biggest hug she'd ever had in her life. It made her miss her mother's warm hugs and kisses even more.

After she had said goodbye to the little girl she set out for the rest of her adventure. She saw a long winding road ahead of her and it spelled out one thing... FUN! She couldn't wait! She reached into her pocket and pulled out her pocket watch her father gave to her mother. Her father died when she was three but her mother always told her what a great man he was. She checked the time and it was only 5:20 she still had about an hour and ten minutes for her little trip. Just then she heard the thunder of hoofs and she turned around to see some horses running away and a short little farmer and a quaint straw hat chasing after them yelling for them to return. When the horses were out of sight and the dust settled Macy saw the old man staring at his shoes with his had sagging in this hands revealing a shiny slightly bald head. She ran to the man “Excuse me sir" She said "How may I help you?" The man was startled at the question. "I have never met a youngling so ready and willing to help" he said with a twinkle in his eye. “But I don't reckon you can help me.... unless that sweet charmin’ face of yours can manage to lure my horses back." Macy had an idea. In her backpack she had a pair of rollerblades. If she put them on she would be quick enough to catch up to the horses. " Sir don't worry" she assured him " I'll get your horses back just as soon as you can say tickle my toes and call me Jim!"

Then she took off after the horses singing a happy song. “come back little horses we've got apples for you, come back or the little old farmer might turn blue" " You see he's been cryin' for quite a long time. He misses his horses and he longs to find. His little horses"

When the song was complete she saw three horses peeking at her through the bushes. She smiled; her mama always told her that she had a charming voice that could make any animal come to her. So she used her voice to lure the animals back to the farmer. When he saw them coming in the distance he was so shocked! He never imagined a little girl like Macy could bring such macho stallions back all on her own.
" I think I'll go for a swim at the lake" Macy thought. " I really need to relax" she continued. " Goodbye Mr. Farmer sir!" and Macy took off in the direction of the lake.
Seated close to the shoreline of the lake was a little boy who appeared to be fishing. Macy had an uncanny ability of catching fish and so she offered her services to the little lad. He didn't really want her help and he told her it was because she was a girl and " girls don't know nothin 'bout fishin'!" Macy really didn't feel like arguing so she just found a corner and changed into some swimwear and made big splash off the dock. She felt so free when she was swimming. It was almost like she could forget all the things in the world that make her feel bad .Then she thought of an idea to stay underwater for a long time...even longer than 5 minutes then she grew a big tail.

A huge mermaid tail she goes down deep in the water and sees a baby dolphin in a net so she finds something to cut the net and she cuts it and starts speaking dolphin says I will help you find your mother okay. and the dolphin leads the way finds her mother. gets back to surface and finds out she was on an island gets back to human form ,and goes into the forest. Finds a fairy named Carrie  she hurt her leg and Macy wanted to help so she asked her what happened she told what happened she offered(as always)Carrie said” You have to become a fairy to help me “. Macy said “I’ll do it”. She became a fairy. She helped Carrie find her family and friends. Macy’s mom is better and is on her way home…hours later her mom is grandma is awake Macy is home.
