When I was a baby I had lots of brothers and sisters. Some were black and white, some were golden, some had funny shapes and spots and stripes. Me I'm all black. Even my nose and my big floppy ears.
Most days me and my siblings loved to play together in my owners back garden. My big sisters liked to chew on my tail mostly but my brothers liked to play rough and tumble until we became one big pile of puppies and no one could tell who was who.
One day me and the others were talking about what might be for dinner that day when my sister Nelly came to me and said,
"Mojo! Do you know what's behind that fence?"
"No I don't" I said to her
"I'm scared of what's behind there!" Said Nelly.
"But why?" I asked her.
"Because my brothers say there's a monster that lives behind there!" Nelly looked frightened and started to shake.
"Don't be silly" I said. "I'm not afraid of anything, I will go and investigate!"
I never did worry about anything. Why would I? I am Magnificent Mojo.
So with a deep breath and a shake of my ears I boldly trotted towards the fence, confident of my success.
The closer I got to the fence, the higher and higher it got. How would I check for the monster? Should I climb? Walk around until I find a door? Or simply use my baby teeth to chew through the wood? Just then, as my puppy brain was thinking about what to do, I saw a hole at the bottom of the fence.
"Yes!" I thought. "I will crawl through that hole! Then I will see the monster!"
So I stretched out as far as I could on my belly, wishing I hadn't eaten that third bowl of puppy food at lunch.
Squeezing my head, my paws and my butt through the hole with a "POP" I was in.
The floor was different here. No fresh grass to chew or roll on. Just cold dark hard stones and there was a funny smell. It was like a sock that hadn't been washed for days, which isn't nice for anyone to smell. Pee yew!
I started to think this was a bad idea doing this but Magnificent Mojo isn't a scardey cat, he's a Super dog!
So I walked around and did what I did best, investigate. Suddenly, whilst sniffing and following the whiffy scent on the ground, my head bumped into something hard and fluffy.
"Ouch!" I shouted loudly, falling on my bottom and rubbing my sore head with my paw. Then I heard it.
A deep loud growl came from above me.
Slowly I followed the noise up and up and up and up until I saw it. A huge grey face of the biggest doggy you had ever seen was staring down at me! His eyes were wide and yellow, his mouth so large the dribble was pouring from each side. He was as big as a tree and as high as the sky. He was no monster. He was Bleu!
My owners had other doggies too you see,but we had never met them before. I knew of Bleu but had only smelt him from a far.
My silly sisters if they knew they wouldn't be so afraid. But I couldn't tell them that. No! I must tell them I scared the monster away.
Still staring upwards, Bleu shook his head at me, laughed and then walked away. I had defeated the monster!
Squeezing back through the hole in the fence, all my siblings were waiting for me. My sisters must of told everyone about my brave adventure.
"Mojo! Are you ok? Was the there a monster? What happened to your head?" Screeched Nelly
"There was a monster! But I got rid of it!" I said proudly.
"No way Bro! That's awesome!" What did it look like?" My brothers asked as they shoved each other to get to me.
"He was super scary! He was a big as a tree and as high as the sky!"
"Wow!" Everyone said in amazement.
"And his growl was so loud it shook the ground!" I explained.
"ooooohhhhhhhh!" They all said together.
"But how did you get him Mojo?" Asked Nelly.
"Well," I said, " I stood up to him, told him to go away and to never come back. Then I growled back at him like this, GRRRRRRR!!!"
"No way!" Said all my brothers. My sisters were still looking a little frightened.
Ok, so I may have exaggerated a bit but still I met Bleu and he wasn't so bad.
From that day on I was known as Magnificent Mojo.
