Katie's Christmas Eve

It was Christmas Eve! Katie was exicted, Mary was exicted, and Ol' Rex was even exicted! "Katie, Mary, Ol' Rex! Come open one small present, then up to bed!" Mother yelled. They all ran downstairs, Ol' Rex hurled down like a blood hound sizied snowball. "Mommy, Mommy!" Mary yelled breathless. "May I go first?" she finished.

"Yes, you may." Mother answered. Mary got a new pair of pink boots. "Yippe!" Mary hollered, pulling on the boots. Katie got a new blue hat. Ol' Rex got a big ol' bone. Then after cleaning up and bedtime snacks. We put out cookies, carrots, and milk for Santa and his reindeer. Then everyone scampered upstairs and into bed. Mary fell asleep first, then Ol' Rex..... But Katie was wide awake, daddy had told Katie that Santa came between Midnight and 3 in the morning. Katie stayed up untill 4:00 o,clock!

Santa did not come! Katie was sure Santa would not come! But then where was Santa? Katie was almost asleep when she heard.... Santa's sleigh bells! She heard hoofs prancing on the roof, and then a faint scratching sound in the chimney! Santa was real, he was coming! Katie tiptoed downstairs and saw Santa reading the note, and eating some cookies. The stockings where stuffed, the presents where under the tree! "Santa IS real!" Katie exclaimed. Just then Santa turned around, he looked almost as shocked as Katie was! "Ho! Ho! Ho! What are you doing up?" Santa asked.

"I was just coming to get a glass of water, and I saw you." Katie answered.

"Ok, young lady, go get your drink and go up to your bed." Santa said. Katie nodded her head, got her drink and ran back upstairs. Fast asleep she was in less then 5 minutes.

And that was Katie's Christmas Eve!
