Chapter 8
The kids were on their way to New York to try and be safe and forget what had happened in L.A. but could they?would they ever be able to hide and never be found?
"I still feel like someone is watching us"said Prim shivering
"yeah,me too"said Cola putting his arm around Prim as if to try and calm her
"Daddy always finds us it seems"said Storm
"boy Cola,what did we marry into?"asked Speed
"quit joking honey,this is a life or death situation we are in"said Storm
"I know but we can't always focus on bad"
"I guess your right,i'm sorry,I-I didn't mean to snap"said Storm smiling
"oh shucks,thats alright"said Speed blushing.
"so...this is it huh?"asked Prim looking at a small stone house with bared windows wooden shutters,a bared wooden door and a huge vine of ivey over the door.
"yup,but the good thing is that we pay rent so it's cheaper"said Cola
"how many rooms?"asked Storm
"two bed,two bath,a kitchen,and a sun room"said Speed
"well,sounds roomy"said Prim
"yeah,it ain't much but it's somethin"said Cola
"well I happen to love it Cola"said Storm
"me too!"said Prim
"well you girls can go get whatever we need,and we'll do some cleanin up and unloadin"said Speed
"sounds like a plan to me"said Prim...
"sis,I'm scared"said Storm throwing a can of peaches into the shpping cart
"me too Storm,but we need to hope for the best"said Prim
"what else do we need?"
"onions,bacon,eggs,and milk"
"that it?"
"yeah,why?"
"oh no reson,I just thought we could get some ice cream"
"Storm!you know that you can't have lactose"
"I know ,but,I can have a little bit"
"fine but only sherbet,I'm not risking another hospital bill"
"Prim it ain't that bad,it was just a coincidence"
"Storm you was getting all swolen because you had to much dairy"
"whatever,just get some sherbet and let's go"...
"Cola,I feel like I can't protect Storm like I should"
"oh Speed!you know you can,besides you have me to help you"said Cola
"thanks,but,I still wory about that girl,why I love her so much,if he was ever to find us again and hurt her,I would just die"
"I know I feel the same about Prim but it's a risk we all have to take"said Cola.
