... a love that lasts for all eternity...

with a timeless mystery hidden
within the crevices of the mind
avoiding the arms outstretched
that brings only undeniable pleasure
welcoming a whole-hearted surrender

not able to trust the visions placed
before hypnotic eyes traveling a path
paved with fear not understanding to
reach out to find the white candle
that burns with blue flame in the dark.

behind this mask falls the
veil of the dissipating day
night has been collared riding
upon a chariot of gray clouds
with a heavy heart, an aching need.

the velvet curtain has been drawn
and neatly placed in draping pleats
as the candle flickers dancing
silhouettes upon the hearts walls
as love rears its head to steal the soul.
