PRIDE COVETOUSNESS LUST ANGER AND SLOTH

When there is no time left to say I’m sorry
And even less to figure out why  you should.

Stand aback

When you  seem to be right  just every time
And you’re so sure you don’t worry

Stand back

Stand back ; stand back from the assurances
They’re just  someone else telling  someone else of your   hidden excesses

How evenly does sorrow meet your pain
Or does the pleasure meet the game

And if these two dont  quite match the same

Stand back

Hold fire on that withering comment
It may seem so  smart

After the triumphant moment .

When the day is spent
And all that’s torn is now rent

What’ s said in words will  surely  plunder
And tare asunder

And make  you wonder
Why ; like me you , maybe make you ask

Why I didn’t

Stand back.
