I was born in Ghaoth Dobhair (Gweedore), Co. Donegal, Ireland in 1995.  I moved to America when I was 7.  I have recently moved in with my cousin Eithne who also will (hopefully) contribue to this Booksie page.  Be looking out for a bunch of new writing.  (And yes, some of it will be in Gaelic) :)

"Go dtí Thosaigh mé ag taisteal riamh, shíl mé go hiomlán chomh tábhachtach agus atá á Gaeilge le mo cumadóireachta agus saol laethúil. I mo thuairimse, i nGaeilge; aisling agam i nGaeilge; count mé i nGaeilge. Go raibh roinnt chuimhneacháin dian sa stiúideo áit a bhfuil mé dearmad mé féin agus yelled rud éigin i nGaeilge ag Nicky agus ansin mhothaigh droch toisc nach mbeadh a fhios aige cad a bhí á rá agam. Tá sé ach cuid an-tábhachtach dom."

~Skye

Rough translation

"Until I began travelling, I never fully realized how important being Irish is to my composing and everyday life. I think in Gaelic; I dream in Gaelic; I count in Gaelic. There have been some intense moments in the studio where I have forgotten myself and yelled something in Gaelic at Nicky and then felt bad because he would not know what I was saying. It's just a very important part of me. "
