My Links

Hey!  My name is Cassie!  Nice to meet you!  I love to write.  I started writing when my sister passed away.  She is truly my hero.  Jesus is my hero also!  I am a Christian and am proud of it.  I have a hero paper on here that I wrote while my sister was in a coma.  It will make you truly think about who your hero is.  And if you want to find out about her you can read my last part of relay for life speech.

I love writing for many reasons.  What is writing to me?  Writing is letting my emotions fly onto the paper.  Truly coming from my heart.  All my poems have a deeper meaning to them.  Some of the meanings I could only get.  But the only way you can connect with someone is if the reader connects to the words.  You have to put your heart into words.   I believe all those great, amazing writings truly come from the heart.  The greatest writers are those who can make the reader connect and give the reader an image.  Something I am trying so hard to achieve.

I am 15 right now.  Just recently.  I've been through a lot of things in my life that have taught me lessons and made me stronger.  I believe everything that happens, happens for a reason.  That you have to learn from the bad stuff.  And let the good stuff keep growing.  People say I'm too smart to be 15, and that I have learned way too many lessons in my life.  That may be true, but you can NEVER be too smart and NEVER learn enough to fulfill your life.  I believe in living your life to the best.  That is what my sister did in her short lifetime and that is what I will do in my short lifetime.  I live for my sister.  Don't think me nutts, but I believe that at times she is living through me.  To look and see the things she missed.  And I want to show them to her.  The only way for me to do that is to do everything I can do in my lifetime.  Please take a moment to read just a little about my sister.

  ~Kaitlyn Rose ********,  April 14, 1997 - May 4, 2007~

Kaitlyn IS my only sister.  I say is because she will always be my sister.  That bond never goes away.  She lived her life to the best it could be.  Even though she had cancer almost all her life, I only saw her cry a couple times.  She was the strongest little girl.  She always had a smile.  She would be friends with my friends because she was homeschooled.  A little story is.  I have a friend named Becky.  They played this joke where everytime they talked Becky would be like, "I'm going to kick your butt!"  And Kaitlyn would be like, "No, I'm going to kick your butt first!"  And go on for minutes back and forth!  Kaitlyn loved the poem Sick by Shel Silverstein.  It was her favorite poem!

Sick by Shel Siverstein:

"I cannot go to school today,"

Said little Peggy Ann MicKay.

"I have the measles and the mumps,

A gash, A rash, and purple bumps.

My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,

I'm going blind in my right eye.

My tounsils are as big as rocks,

I've counted sixteen chicken pox

And there's one more...   that's seventeen,

And don't you think my face looks green?

My leg is cut...   my eyes are blue...

It might be instamatic flu.

I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,

I'm sure that my left leg is broke...

My hip hurts when I move my chin,

My belly button's caving in,

My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,

My 'pendix pains each time it rains.

My nose is cold, my toes are numb.

I have a sliver in my thumb.

My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,

I hardly whisper when I speak.

My tongue is filling up my mouth,

I think my hair is falling out.

My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,

My temperature is one-o-eight.

My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,

There is a hole inside my ear.

I have a hangnail and my heart is...   what?

What's that?  What's that you say?

You say today is...  Saturday?

G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

That was my sister's unltimate favorite poem.  She said it at Camp Dost.  A cancer camp that we went to.  She said it in the talent show.  She would repeat it over and over to the nurses.  Oh.  Another hilarious story.  My sister would number her favorite nurses from one to ten.  One being her favorite.  The first couple would all be guy nurses that she had little crushes on.  Isn't that funny?  And the nurses would go along with it.  And fight to be the best.  One nurse would come in and say, "I saw the list.  What did I do!"  And smile.  They loved Kaitlyn.  Geisinger is a great childrens hospital.   Oh and you know how when you're at the hospital you always get asked when your birthday is.  Or if like its coming up they ask you.  Well, guess what her answer would be EVERY time.  It would always be, "April 14th, 97"  Exactly like that.  Thankyou for reading this part.  You can learn more about her in other writings of mine.

Some things about me can be that I play girls tennis for the high school.  I love to sing!  I'm in the high school choir right now.  I also joined writing club, and so far they really like my writings.  Unfortunately I often start novels, and then forget about them.  I don't normally write another chapter to the novel unless I actually feel like writing.  I often feel like writing poems instead.  Sorry guys.  Sometimes you will have to wait a while for a new chapter.  I'm trying my best to keep everyone happy, and updating as fast as I can.  But high school and everything else keeps me really busy.  I am very outgoing, and love to have fun.  I am friends with about everyone at school.  I hate it when people don't like me.  And have very few enemies.  I love going up life's mountains and trying my best to learn from them.  I get stuck sometimes but I always have those friends right beside me helping pull me out of the hole I'm stuck in.  I love you guys!  :)      I have an older brother that is 23 years old, and has a wife that is 25 or 26.  He has a 2 year old daughter.  He has been in the navy for 5 1/2 years.  We just recently found out that he is going to Afghanistan in March.  He is in Kansas right now training.  He didn't get to spend Thanksgiving with his family.  He won't see his daughter again until she is four years old.  He's in my prayers, and I hope he is in yours too!  Also, its not just my brother I'm worried about.  I thank all those people out there fighting for us.  I pray for them as much as I can.  You guys are awesome!

Ok I think that about sums it up.  If you have any questions just feel free to ask.  I love to meet and talk with new people.  If you want a comment just stop by and ask.  I will definately stop by your page! I would love to hear what you think of my writings.  And I am having a blast reading other peoples' writings. As for commenting I trully try to repay you for your comments to my page.  Everyone says my comments are thoughtful so I really hope you like them too.  I love reading other peoples' writings.  I get to learn new things, and maybe teach them something when I comment.  I learn a lot of lessons in writing by just reading writing on my own.  I am a very seeing person.  That's how I learn.  So I try to take in every word.  I really trully appreciate comments on my work.  Because I am still young.  And could definately use the criticism.  But compliments are always nice too!  :)  Don't we all love compliments?  Thankyou so much for reading.  I know its really long.  I talk a lot!  Ask anyone.  Haha.  Take care everyone.  And know that my arms are open for anyone and so is my shoulder free for anyone that needs to shed some tears.  My ears are always listening.  And my eyes are always hunting for someone in need of some good talking to and someone that needs help.  Just remember the paper is always sitting there waiting for you to spill those words for other people to learn from them.  :)

~Love~

Cassie
