Having survived a number a professions.. From crocodile handler to bank clerk.. From housebound housewife to the "bitch in charge of stationery" .. I have turned to writing to maintain my sanity. Was always a tad overqualified for my working experience, having majored in Judaica at UNISA! (Unable to get a position as a rabbi as I am a shiksa lesbian who believes that the Creator is everywhere and not restricted to any one building!)
Am now semi-retired, living with my wife of 32 years and and ancient kittycat. Our children flew from the nest many years ago.. One now in the UK and the other in Canada, so we must now spoil each other and ourselves and, of course, the cat.
have traveled the world on a tight budget over the past few years.. using public transport and staying in cheap hotels and homestay so that we get to really meet the locals.. have been fortunate to have seen Israel, Egypt, Morocco, UK, Zanzibar (aaah beautiful!), India, Hong Kong, Bali, Lombok, China, Mongolia, Siberia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, USA and Canada.. Myanmar is next on our list! I have found that the traveling has opened my mind to seeing the world from a different perspective and use this new point of view in my writing.
Have had four short stories published in collections.. "Chromosomes" in Queer View Mirror (ed Johnstone &Tulchinsky), "Canada" in Queer View Mirror II (Ed Johnstone & Tulchinsky), "Hot Christmas Lunch" in All in the Seasoning (ed Katherine V Forrest) and "Lesbian Bedrooms" in The Vintage Book of International Lesbian Fiction (ed Nestle & Holoch). I have also done a few travel articles for the Saturday Star Travel Magazine.
