I love books. I have loved them since I was a kid. Growing up, I loved Roald Dahl. I still love those stories today.
As an adult, my taste is very much sci-fi- David Weber, John G. Hemry, Peter F Hamilton and John Scalzi are all authors whose work I thoroughly enjoy. I have also enjoyed the four Dan Brown novels I've read so far- and some Tom Clancy as well.
As a writer I am trying to expand my horizons. I've got stories up on Movellas and Wattpad that are decidedly not sci-fi, which is important to me. I aim to bring those stories here to see what you think.
I work in retail, and thus I feel rather well placed to comment on the typical life of the retail worker, having worked in that sector since 2007. It can be fun, and the satisfaction of ensuring a customer leaves the store happy is a great one, but it can be a mountain of stress too, since I'm part of the management team and get to deal with everything that entails.
I'm a family man. I'm happily marrried (in fact, 2014 will see my wife and I celebrate five years of marriage, and we will have been together ten years this year). I am also the proud father to a three-and-a-half year old girl, who is the brightest light in my life. The day she was born my life changed forever- I have learned to function on less sleep, I have been puked on, weed on and pooed on, and going anywhere involves a lot more work and time than it used to, but I would not change even a day of the experience. She is wonderful, she really is.
I urge you to read Criss Sole's very personal account of her life- she is a remarkably brave young woman and her voice needs to be heard: http://www.booksie.com/non-fiction/novel/criss_sole/the-things-he-shattered/chapter/1
