Influences:
Music: Any style of music really, mainly punk and ska. I also enjoy listening to Jazz, Classic Rock, Metal, Alternative, Classical, Reggae, a little bit of Rap and Hip Hip. You can't go wrong with music. I try to use music in my stories all the time, either my character being a musician or listening to alot of the same bands I enjoy. I try to make my character some ways a mold of myself. I've played the drums since I was 5 and was in band from 4th grade all the way through my senior year of high school. Music has literally been a major part of my life.
Movies: I have grown a strong respect and admiration for classic movies. Alot of them are featured on AFI's Top 100 list. The Godfather, Casablanca, Raging Bull, A Clockwork Orange, etc. I also enjoy Cool Hang Luke, The Departed, Fight Club, Good Night and Good Luck, Mystic River, Good Morning Vietnam and V for Vendetta. I have a love for films staring Johnny Depp and films directed by Martin Scorsese, Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola, Mel Brooks, Clint Eastwood, The Coen Brothers and Alfred Hitchcock. My love for movies has grown since my Film as Art classes in high school. I owe it all to my film teacher, Mrs. Dyba.
Television: Get this out of the way, television sucks. There are a few shows that I do watch, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Avatar: The Last Airbender and South Park. Other than that, TV is really just a huge waste of my time. What I do enjoy most is Anime. Their stories and artwork are incredible and almost always hook me. Fullmetal Alchemist is without a doubt my favorite anime. Others include Cowboy Bebop, Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, FLCL, Full Metal Panic?!, Wolfs Rain, etc.
Books: I have ready many books which I consider favorite, but hands down has to be A Clockwork Orange. I also enjoyed Catcher in the Rye, The Shining, 1984, Fahrenheit 451. Authors I enjoy are George Orwell, Anthony Burgess, James Patterson, J.D. Salinger, Edgar Allen Poe, Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, .
My Writing:
I write mainly short stories and novel oriented material. I am neither good at writing or reviewing poetry, so if someone who writes a majority of poetry reviews one of my works, I thank you very much, but wont be able to leave much feedback on poetry. I will however check back to see if you happen to post a short story, which I then will review for you.
I've alwayys had a taste for writing, but it wasnt until my sophmore year that i really got into it, courtesy of my english teacher Mrs. Maurio. I owe it all to her.
