Welcome.
Thanks for stopping by. I am an Englishman living in Jakarta Indonesia. I run a few businesses but what I enjoy most is playing music and writing. I hope you enjoy my Booksie portfolio. Most of the pieces are articles written for local magazines and newspapers. My only hope is that at some point while you are reading you smile or feel moved in some other way. If you do feel moved in any way I would love to hear about it. If you have ideas about how a story could be improved I'd love to her them as well.
There are some interesting people on Booksie and there are some other people as well. I fear this site may become a kind of Facebook for writers, wherein the only goal of many people is to gather as many fans as possible by making nice comments on other people's work regardless of its real quality, then "fanning" those people hoping for reciprocal nice comments and a fan request back. I have decided that I will only comment on stories I like, and I will only "fan" people if I really like their work. I don't see the point in collecting fans for the sake of it and I don't see the point in people "fanning" me if they don't really like what I do. I would like the number of fans I have to say something about how many people really enjoy what I write, not simply equal the number of people I "fan". I don't see the point. Is that weird?
Unless I end up with no fans. Then I'll sit in a corner hugging my knees and sucking my thumb while rocking gently backwards and forwards. Then I'll start making nice comments and fanning people like crazy until I get my confidence back. Then we'll start all over again if that's ok with you.
Write on guys!
